Quaint, romantic, good food- spendy

It is located in a cute former house. In house bar, locally made meals. Good food, great service, great atmosphere. You will eat in individual rooms. I think it's over priced. I did ask for my wine to be exchanged and they gladly did it. The owners are very friendly. I'd recommend it- but be... read more

It's been a long time since we dined at this restaurant. When we walked in, nothing had changed. Poor paint, tired paintings, old linens, and an overall unwelcoming feeling was disappointing. Our waitress was very patient with our ordering yet was slow to refill our water glasses even though the restaurant was not crowded. She did when we asked on... More

It's an annual ritual. Even if we don't make it on the actual day, if it's our anniversary, we'll be at Bacchus. I always get the Vietnamese Shrimp Rolls, a FINE filet mignon medium-well and no matter how over-stuffed the belly, a shared molten chocolate cake. Jeff gets the filo covered melted creamy goat cheese with walnuts, an adventurous new... More

What a charming and lovely place for a fine dining experience! I really loved the small room setting and the entire ambiance. My entire group all had fantastic dishes, everything home cooked and made with care! Special mentions to the homemade breads, and the specialty drink selection (for fall menu). Also, Brendan our server was excellent! Next time I am... More

I am a HUGE fan of Cafe BAcchus!!! From the vegetarian selection of food (and my boyfriend loves the rest of the menu) to the craft cocktails and wine selection to the appetizers and dessert!! AMAZING. If you are there and can try the soup, do so!!!! Soup is ALWAYS a must for any meal you are ordering!!! If you... More

We made a reservation to celebrate our daughter's graduation knowing we enjoyed a prior dinner at this great restaurant. The second visit was even better than the first. The restaurant is in a quaint home with some great history including a link to the Titanic. I only learned the interesting history after seeing a magazine article back at the hotel.... More

Meals were quite good. However, the service had a lot to be desired. Orders were taken 15-20 minutes after being seated. Meals were delivered almost one hour after orders were taken. After 45 minutes and an inquiry, we were told our meals were just being plated. 15 minutes later, we were finally served. I would try again due to the... More

While visiting our daughter at WVU, we enjoy the challenge of finding good restaurants in town! Cafe Bacchus (not a cafe!) is a hidden gem right on High Street. The restaurant is in a historic brick home with a lovely front porch and fireplace in main room. We called ahead for reservations and were glad that we did. It was... More

I was fortunate to experience a special dinner at Cafe Bacchus recently. In conjunction with a performance of the Pittsburgh Symphony, Cafe Bacchus hosted a pre- concert dinner. The first course, a delicious borscht, was follows by an amazing number of scallops with creamy mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Dessert, a luscious creme brûlée and coffee rounded out our meal.... More
