Rather sparse restaurant in a rather sparse town, Dories offers a friendly welcome, good food, and low prices. The portions are Americanized, so splitting a meal makes sense, especially if you're enticed by one their freshly home-made pies. There's no cell phone service in the whole area, so you won't be bothered by others blabbing into phones while you're trying to... More

Restaurant was about 75% full when we arrived for lunch after 20 miles biking on the Greenbrier trail. Salad arrived in about 15 minutes and BLT arrived 30 minutes later. Seemed to be well staffed, just not sure why it took so long for such a simple lunch?

Couple in 60's after day's cycling on the Greenbrier Trail, looking for simple dinner close to lodging. We concur with Jeepman-92, "Tasty home cooking, but don't be in a hurry"! Although late and seeming nearly empty, waited maybe 20 minutes for service. But once begun, our salad, spaghetti, and hot roast beef were delicious, plentiful, and cheerfully provided, at low... After 2 days and close to 60 miles on the Greenbrier River Trail we wanted a sit-down restaurant meal. Dorie's was the choice, 3 short blocks from the Old Clark Inn where we kept our bikes. It's a country / small town restaurant, with enough tables and space to fit 75 people or so. Clean. Booths and tables are available... More

Lots to choose from, with gravy on lots of it! A few healthy choices, but not the reason to come to Dorrie's. Loved the salad with crunchy chicken and french fries on top - needed to head for the bike trail to work off the calories afterwards, but it was worth it.

The food is average at best. It's not great and not horrible. They do have a pretty good variety and i like the burritos, very nice portion! The wait for my meal was ridiculous the last couple of times I was there, so I don't plan on returning. No kidding, hour to hour and a half waits each time.

Contrary to other reviews, I received fairly quick and courteous service...even though they were rather busy. I ordered a chicken cheese steak at the waitress' recommendation and substituted sweet potato fries for chips at an extra charge. The sandwich was okay. On the plus side, it had 2 small chicken breast lobes, so you got a decent portion of meat,... More

The title really sums it up. The service was exceedingly slow, even though I was eating at the counter and there were easy chances to refill my soda. The food was not bad, just very plain, very average. There's better to be had in Marlinton, Such as Snak Shak around the corner.

We really wanted to go to the Greenbrier Grille, but the recent storm left much of Marlinton without power. So, we visited Dories. The pork barbecue was delicious, but my bf's cheeseburger wasn't really good. The service also was really poor. We waited for a long time to get our food, and no one refilled our drinks during dinner. It... More

Have eaten there before this trip, food was good and service was OK. When we were there in Dec. the waitress wouldn't even acknowledge we were there, the dining room floor and tables were dirty. We walked out, both times.
