A General impression

On a trip from Virginia to Kentucky, we decided to take a rest and have lunch in the town of Lewisburg, West Virginia. Lewisburg was sort of a halfway point in the journey. What a good decision. The town has several antiques shops -- antiques being a major interest -- and possesses a historic... read more

We had stayed here 30 years ago and are pleased to report that its just as wonderful as before. It's a classic old but very quaint Inn. Rooms are wonderful and the dining room is small but the food and wait staff are just excellent. If you're in the Greenbrier Valley don't miss this place.

We stayed at the Inn and decided to have breakfast there (which was not included in the price of being a hotel guest.) Both the service and the food were average. It is a small space and they do recommend reservations for dinner.

We had a lovely breakfast here. Our relatives eat here all of the time, and they just love it. The biscuits are fresh and delicious. The apple butter and jelly are homemade, and we thought they were excellent. Looking around at all of the antiques and reading about the history of this beautiful old mansion restaurant was a great experience.

This Inn is owned and run by the grand daughter of the original owner. It is full of the original furniture and relics. It is amazing and enchanting, like sleeping in a museum with a good bed and linens. The staff is good and the food is wonderful in the restaurant, beautiful gounds and right in the coolest small town... More

You are presented with a huge menu at this old fashioned dining room in the bed and breakfast. And the food is amazing. We have eaten here many times with large groups and everyone always has a great dish. This place is also very affordable and the service is top notch. Skip the Greenbrier dining room and eat here

My family and I love to go to the General Lewis for lunch or dinner when we're vacationing in the area each summer. We make it a habit to go each year, because the ambience is so cool and the food so yummy! The wait staff is very attentive and knowledgable about the food. Love it!

Regardless of the time morning, noon or night the menu selections will satisfy any appetite. They have a great Sunday brunch. The wait staff are very attentive and helpful in recommendations. The establishment is open to the public so reservations are recommended. They also have a good wine seletion. So even if your not staying at the Inn it is... More
