Didn't order food, but spent $ on homemade goods. Great value. Store clerk was very nice. Didn't mind our son toddling about.

We stayed at the General Lewis Inn, so we thought we would enjoy the whole experience by also eating there for dinner. We were apprehensive at first when we saw the reasonable prices, however the food was as good as any upscale restaurant. Two of us had the Chilean Sea Bass with mango salsa. I had just had this at... My DH and I really enjoyed our dinner here while we were bedding down at the Greenbrier Resort, a few miles up the road. The dining room itself is a nostalgic reminder of the charm of yesteryear, before the Dorothy Draper-decorated Greenbrier came into existence. .Lace curtains, colored glass ornaments in the windows, pottery over the door transoms added to... Dinner was very nice. Table settings reminded you of the olden days when dishes didn't match but were very quaint.

Food is horrible intehy dining room! Really horrible. Rooms just OK. Antiques beds without support making you sleep nearly onthe floor. The historic items haning on walls lovely. The main room by the fire with a cup of coffee charming. HAs history as does all of the area..but walk through and enjoy it..then leave..Stay elsewhere please!

The ambiance is enough to satisfy you, but the food will keep you coming back. You will enter a 1800 hotel and seated beside past generals and presidents, you may even sit in the same place as one. If you love history, if you love food, and an ambiance. Please see this place.
