First and foremost, our family loves the town of Lewisburg; it's shops, people and rich history. Our family has been visiting Lewisburg since 2003 when we purchased Westwinds, a horse farm in western Virginia near Lake Moomaw. While we've enjoyed the several restaurants in town, we also felt the locals as well as tourists would welcome and support more restaurant options, and so far we've been right! Our family's first restaurant, Stella's, has been a hit since we opened in January, 2011. Stella's, named and inspired after our mom Alice Stella Hirt who passed away in 1985, is warm, welcoming and elegant, just like our mom was. Stella's has many feminine touches which were influenced by our mom and put into place by Tammy. Our newest restaurant, The Livery Tavern, on the other hand is a very masculine interpretation of a mid-1800's tavern, with an open beamed ceiling and a generous use of natural materials and earth tones both inside and out. The Livery has a full bar, privacy booth seating, outdoor patio seating and an extensive wine and port list. Our menu is a reflection of this same interpretation, with dishes including grilled venison, quail, lamb and local beef cuts like 2 inch bone-in rib eyes. The Livery is also fashioned with a unique military motif to honor our father Major General John B. Hirt USMC, who passed away in 2012. You'll find these military influences in our logo and other decorative treatments inside the restaurant.

The Livery is a must when we visit Lewisburg, always a great experience. Limited but excellent menu. Ordered the coffee-rubbed ribeye this evening (chef's special) prepared nicely, but the cut of meat was not so great. I realize things happen sometimes, but I was a bit disappointed that I had to wrestle with the steak. About halfway through, I decided... More

My wife and I dropped by the greenbriar with our children to show them where we got married. We stopped by the Livery on a whim and had an outstanding but slightly pricey meal. It couldn't have been too overpriced as we couldn't w a it to go there the next night as well. The children were well cared for... More

Been here two or three times - excellent service and product every time. Take whatever the server recommends 100% of the time.

Very nice meal at the Livery in the quaint town of Lewisburg WV. Decor and ambiance were pleasant. Best Caesar salad I have had in a long time (addition of pine nuts and lightly fried brussel sprouts). Main course of Game Sampler was very nicely cooked. Wine list was solid and well priced wines by the glass.

When one of my favorite restaurants closed I was very upset because I always looked forward to visiting my vacation cabin knowing I was in for an excellent meal. Thank heavens for for The Livery Tavern as it has taken the old ones place and given me back that same excitement. The Livery has it all, Excellent Food, Service and... More

This restaurant is what we love, outstanding food, outstanding ambiance, outstanding service and much more. The portions are very generous so you need not spend a fortune to satisfy your hunger. Two sisters operate two separate restaurants about 4 blocks from each other, this one, and the equally wonderful Stellas. Both ladies are a delight to meet and their appreciation... More

I was joined by 2 locals...it was my first time here. One of the finest dinners that I have had in Lewisburg. Try the Caesar Salad and The Sportsman entree coupled with a nice Pinot Noir. 5 stars.

Elegant! Good food, local as much as they can. Creative, consistent and expensive for this area. If you are here and want one of the best meals available, this is your place!
