Atmosphere in here is wonderful, it's super small but also super inviting, like sitting at grandma's table. We ordered a merlot which was excellent and they bagged up what we didn't drink so we could take it home with us. We ordered calamari for an appetizer which was surprisingly fresh and not chewy at all. I liked how they included... More

We stayed here for a week and thought we would never have any good food. Muttley's was the best food we had for the week. The only thing is that they had the doors open and a small fly problem.

Decent place. Probably 3 and a half stars. Don't expect a great restaurant and you will be satisfied. They have taken the old restaurant and divided it into thirds. One third is a restaurant, one third wine shop and one third deli. I would assume the restaurant wasn't doing great for that to happen. No liquor license since the move... More

I have had many steaks at local chain restaurants, and typically they never come cooked the way I like...too pink in the middle or too tough to eat. However, I ordered a medium-well NY strip at Mutley's and it was Perfect! I could almost cut the streak with my fork. It was very juicy and very little pink in the... More

There were lots of empty tables, and we were dressed nice, but were told they were full. Guess they were expecting a party. Same night we were turned away by another establishment that decided to go see fireworks after we had waited there an hour.

I got a strip steak here that was reasonably priced and nicely cooked. The sides were unremarkable - the vegetables were overcooked but that was not uncommon in this part of the woods, so to speak. The red wine I bought next door was too warm at room temperature in the summer with no A/C running. There were no splits... More

Muttley's has hearty food, featuring good steaks, at a reasonable price. They are especially popular on their weekly steak special night, Thursdays, I think. They also have an interesting, inexpensive wine list, including their own label.

Several years age while staying at Canaan we tried Muttleys because of our disappointment in the ressort dining room. At the time the place had a neat pub atmosphere, heavy on the wood and booths, and the steaks were very good. Price was right also. Ain't true no more. Looks like it lost its liquor license for what was the... More

We dined here on a Thursday evening 2 days before Memorial Day and it was dead. There was an odd, uncomfortable silence that permeated the space. There was one other couple and they were having zero conversation, they just sat there looking at nothing at all just past one another's shoulders. Then one other fellow showed up who seemed to... Make a reservation-they will have tapas waiting at your table. Place is always busy-small cozy place. Everyone from the owner to the lady in the wine shop were super friendly. If you want wine or beer for dinner, you walk two doors down, inside, to the wine store and pick the bottle or single serving you want. LOVE THAT! Food... More
