You can get good, indeed, excellent, sushi in Charleston! The proprietor, Yoshi, is a real gem. The food is well prepared and thoughtful. The staff is attentive and fish is very, very fresh. There is tempura, cooked and noodles for those who prefer to avoid sushi - the albacore is always good, as is the tuna and salmon. We try... More

Have been only once. Food was OK. It took forever to get a bottle of wine from a very skinny wine list. Very loud music to the extent it was unpleasant and difficult to hold a conversation. Have no reason to return

I'm always hesitant to try sushi that (a) not near a major city with an airport and/or (b) not near a place where fresh fish is easy to obtain. However, Kaifu is awesome. Great sushi. The chef knows his stuff. I'm in Charleston about once a month for work, and I eat lunch there frequently. Very good prices too. The... More

Our family frequents Kaifu regularly. The waitresses are very friendly and service is good. The sushi is wonderful! Our favorite roll is the Red Roof. The spicy fried tofu is also delicious!

My husband and I love this place. I always come for Hawaiian poki roll. He gets the sushi combo. The sushi chef, Yoshi, is always very friendly and does a wonderful job. This is the best place for real sushi in WV. This is not the place to come if you want fancy rolls covered in too much sauce and... More

Just plain nasty and expensive for food we couldn't eat. Canned peaches dumped out into bowl...sushi was slabs of raw fish...yuck...service? I guess trying for Flo but missed the boat and just seemed rude!

Should really be Average and a half on rating, but cant do halves... So its good but not great, a little pricey but not totally unreasonable. Went late in the evening. Staff was very good. Portions are more than fair. Choices are limited, but they have the basics, tuna and salmon, nothing exotic that I saw. Rolls may be the... More

My wife and I were checking out the other sushi restaurants in Charleston. A friend had mentioned this restaurant, so we decided to tryi it. It is a small place and seemed very laid back and cozy. The tables and chairs were well worn, but the decor was nice. The sushi menu was comparable to the other restaurants in town,... More

What a lovely surprise! I ate there for the fist time tonight, and was delighted! Simple, not fancy, but oh, so good! The menu is limited- there were 4 kinds of sashimi available: tuna, salmon, yellowtail, & albacore (I had the first three), but the quality of the fish is superb- like butter!- and the marinated squid salad was So... I actually eat at Kaifu regularly and have never had a bad meal there. The service is great and the food is better. The albacore sahimi might be the best meal in the world.
