Good food but pricey.

The food was actually pretty good. The calamari was great, and my steak was cooked perfectly. I will say that the pricing is much higher than even some of the finest steakhouses. An 8oz filet was around $45 and still alacarte. So, it was substantially more expensive than most very nice... read more

I was in Charleston, WV for a meeting and had dinner at The Chop House restaurant. Located in a very large shopping center across the street from the Marriott hotel, The Chop House looks like other fine steak houses and the dinner lived up to its fine reputation. My friend and I shared a rare seared Tuna for an appetizer... More

I've always wanted to try beef wellington and my friend discovered that The Chop House in Charleston was the closest restaurant to Parkersburg that had it on the menu, so we decided to get dressed up, head down and check it out. We made reservations at 6:30 on a Thursday and were seated promptly. What struck me immediately was the... More

Overall the Chop House has an expensive menu inline with the quality meals they prepare. But sometimes too expensive for a non-celebratory occasion. But wait, the bar has fantastic Happy Hour food entrees at very reasonable prices. We got a salad with chicken or salmon for $12.00-$15.00 that very, very good. Also appetizers like the calamari, lobster bites, and shrimp... More

I expected this to be a great experience and I was right. Great service, food and ambiance. My wife and I got the surf and turf. The prime rib was fantastic and the African lobster was large and the best I've eaten anywhere. The restaurant is not large, so calling ahead for reservations is advised. BTW, if you got there... We visited the Chop House before a concert at the Charleston Civic Center, which is right across the street. The food was very good. A word of warning though the main dishes do not come with sides, but you can order sides extra and they are huge portions so be prepared to share. It is fairly pricy place, a nice... More

Everyone deserves a nice night out. When combined with a visit for a civic center event..expect a perfect evening at the chop house. Reservations are the key. During center events..nearby restaurants are crowded. The Chop House honors reservation and gives quick service. Great experience. Pricey and worth every dollar.

I have eaten at the Chop House on several occasions and it always is excellent. The service is outstanding and the food first rate. I like the cold fish appetizer as a meal and the Caesar salad is very good, and they include anchovies. The portions are large so come prepared to share sides.

Went there for dinner and was very impressed. The service was very attentive and the quality of food was excellent, portion sizes were very generous and couldn't have been tastier, even the seafood. Cannot go wrong eating here. It is a bit pricey but that's not surprising nor is it outlandish.

Not much to talk about. Decent enough food. Good service. We ate at this place thinking it could be great food, but it was not overly impressive.
