Located on Capitol Street. Parking difficult. Taylor Books is a unique independent book store, in the mold of Square Books in Oxford MS, or The Tattered Cover in Denver. It's a great local hangout, with music, book signings, and is a fantastic place to browse for 10 minutes or a couple of hours. The cafe serves a fairly stripped down... More

Did a book signing there in July and was thrilled with the space, the gallery and the staff. Excellent latte, and the baked goods were very fresh and tasty. Hidden gem in the middle of charleston.

In morning...get your favorite latte, express or coffee with a homemade scone. In the afternoon, after lunch, when you have been trying to stay awake...get your favorite latte, expresso or coffee. On fri and or sat evenings, hang around with other old hippies, young hippies, minimalists, or whomever you choose to go with to listen to local vocals music, have... More

I start almost every weekday with friends having coffee and a scone or muffin at Taylor Books. It is a wonderful place to kill some time and have a great cup of coffee. They actually have some interesting weekend events and a pretty darn good wine selection and there own make of draft beer.

Stopped by and had a glass of wine and beer while we waited for a table at a nearby restaurant. Really cool place. Good selection of books. Negative everyone working there has a snotty attitude-didn't care for that. Would go again and just ignore the attitudes.

This bookshop is located on a picture perfect street that reminds you of something in a movie. This is a great locally owned bookshop that offers a wonderful variety of books and beautiful art by local artists. You could easily spend at least two hours in this shop!

I try to go to Taylor Books at least once a week. The place is wonderful, and it is so rare to be able to visit a local bookstore in the 21st Century. You forget what it is like to just browse books - and this place is cozy, has great coffee (and wine at night) and an art gallery... More

My favorite little bookshop! A cafe, bookstore, art gallery and generally ecclectic place to be! This store is very unique in comparison to other stores in the area. They sell a different variety of books not found in B&N or Walden's. The art gallerty features local artists and state-wide artists at a absolutely affordable rate. This includes Glasgow glass, which... More

My colleague and I had some free time during a business trip so we decided to walk around Charleston. The front desk person at the Marriott told us that if we got the chance to stop by Taylors we should. Taylor’s is divided into three sections. First, there is a bookstore. If want to peruse a classic bookstore that is... More

I stopped here with a co-worker in the morning. He was buying coffee, I just browsed the store. Very nice selection of books. Coffee bar looks similar to starbucks or any coffee bar.
