Tamarack cafe serves excellent breakfast and lunch items whether going thru the deli or grill line. This morning on return trip to Maryland, we stopped for breakfast. My wife loves the grilled trout, scrambled eggs, potatoes and biscuits. The grilled trout is of the breakfast and lunch menus and is perfectly prepared. I opted for the plate of biscuits and... More

We ate breakfast at Tamarack on our trip north on I-77. I had the rainbow trout fillet and eggs. It was a different and wonderful treat. We liked breakfast so well that we stopped at Tamarack on our way back to North Carolina to have lunch. I also recommend the braised kale. In addition to the great meals, we enjoyed... More

The buffet at Tamarack is a cut above most restaurants. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is delightful. Wandering through the shop filled with all sorts of West Virginia-made handcrafts is an added attraction. WV has hit a home run with this place!

It was a quaint little place but I wasn't too impressed by it. A lot of the items were severely over priced in my opinion. I didn't try the restaurant so that may be the only reason I go back.

We had breakfast at Tamarack both days we were in Beckley. It was very affordable and delicious. We enjoyed walking around and shopping after the meals and had wonderful lattés from the coffee bar. Many beautiful items to peruse.

My husband and i always stop at Tamarack, for a meal and to see what is on display. Its a good place to to stretch our legs. Today we had breakfast there: Scrambled eggs and biscuits, an omelette and toast, and coffee. The coffee was odd because it came in three sizes. Almost every place offers free refills, but apparently... More

We stopped for lunch and a look see. Interesting and beautiful local art....some expensive and some moderately priced. There were also lots of honey, fudge, jellies and jams...again moderately priced. We bought dinner at the cafeteria style restaurant and ate outside near the kids' playground. We enjoyed the outside dining option. As for the food, my tuna melt sandwich was... More

I have eaten here numerous times. It's a combination southern cooking / high end quality food. The chefs are always polite, and accommodating. The horseradish encrusted salmon is fabulous. You can sometimes get local specialty food in season. They always have greens (that's Southern cooking). It's clean, convenient and the Tamarack Center is a must see - WV artists display... More

We have stopped here before, and always enjoy checking out the handcrafted items. This time, we decided to have lunch while visiting. The food was good enough, but the service not so much. The two people behind the deli counter finished their personal conversation before even acknowledging myself and my husband. They were not very personable, and I was very... More

You can't afford the items in Tamarack, but you cannot afford not to eat in their cafeteria. The chefs are awesome. The food is to die for, especially the trout and the fried green tomatoes. Desserts are plentiful. Staff is friendly and helpful. This is a must visit for me!
