I am really surprised The Lost Parrot is still popping up on trip advisor at all considering it permanently closed in December 2012. It used to be a neat little dive bar type place with good people and a friendly atmosphere in the heart of downtown Beckley. This review wouldn't be this long, but character requirements and all... :-)

We arrived in time for Happy Hour on a Friday but no one else showed! We had the whole outdoor patio to ourselves. While we don't enjoy really crowded places a few folks would have helped. They advertised a Friday nite party but I guess we missed it....

There really aren't a ton of dining options in this area so we really just stopped by for a drink. It is funky and fun. Bikers, locals, young drinking crowd. Good music playing and a band was going to play later but we didn't stay that late. The drinks and people watching were good. One guy (local) kept buying trays... More

Our experience at Lost Parrot was mixed. I loved the visual theme of the place, and the Jimmy Buffet vibe that they are going for. The walls are covered with tiki and beach art...but it totally clashes with the Nickelback and country music that they were playing. The island vibe disappeared completely the by the time we were seated. Suggestion:... More

A funky bar with great food and delicious drinks. Service was good and outside patio was very large. Of course in the middle of Beckley there really is no beach.

I have no idea what my food tasted like because this place is so smokey, all you taste is cigarettes. No fan, no smoke eater, no windows... just a smokey mess. There is a patio, but you are hard pressed to sit outside because of all the drunks fighting and spilling beers.

The cheese covered tater tots were good, but the pizza seems to have some kind of cheap cheese that doesn't have flavor or body to it. I probably won't go back.

The music sounded okay but smoking is apparently allowed in this bar. The smoke was so thick that we turned away at the door and didn't even try to go in. I'm allergic and couldn't risk an attack to find out if it was okay inside.
