Hard to find fine dining in Yakima, but Carousel does it right. In the heart of the Yakima wine country, you want a restaurant that serves wine-friendly food. French-style cooking is the perfect match, and Carousel pulls it off. The dining room is attractive and the servers are friendly and hard-working. On the Saturday night we were there, they were... A surprising find for Yakima. Not a great french resturant but extremely enjoyable and better than would expect to find here. You will have to search for it, the Hotel had not heard of it

Wonderful food - my husband especially enjoyed the onion soup, and live music in the bar after dinner.

We intended to dine next door at La Melange, which we have often driven four hours (from Seattle) for special dinners. Unfortunately, our choice was closed -- booked up for a Kiwanis dinner -- so we tried Carousel. Interesting decor...part of the old Yakima opera house apparently. The wall painting reminded us of the cave drawings in France. Little else... More

The Carousel really has the feel of a small French bistro - dimly lit, cozy, intimate - we went in summer, but it would be a perfect winter outing. Start with bread, warm & toasty - best thing we had. Crab cakes were so-so, mushy, with no evidence of crab. The coq au vin was also so-so - chicken was... More

We enjoyed our outing at the carousel last night. The starters were good especially the French onion soup though the description in the menu was confusing. My steak was excellent and cooked perfectly to my temperature. It was as good as any steak I've ordered at a steakhouse. The veggies were nicely presented and not over cooked. I'd definitely go... So its a little place with a big heart. It is trying to bring some correctly made thoughtful food to a city that needs it.

Consistent quality in a limited menu. Clearly influenced by French cuisine. We usually order from the bar menu. Those items are sufficiently generous that we always leave satisfied.

First off the server was enjoyable even though the service was a bit slow. However considering they had live music that night, I think it was part of the idea. We had a 3 course meal and I enjoyed the scallop grapefruit sald and the creme brulee. The main course, which was the bulk of the 140 price tag for... More
