At Old Schoolhouse Brewery, we strive to create microbrews that satisfy the discerning hop head as well as those who prefer a lighter taste. Unique to Winthrop, our brewery uses chlorine-free water that flows from the pristine North Cascade mountains. This clean, uncontaminated water helps enhance the natural flavors of the malts and hops bringing you a superior beer drinking experience. Have been there in summer and winter. Love sitting on the deck by the river in summer. In winter, sit closer to the bar than the the windows to avoid the chill. Friendly, helpful staff. Good beer and cider selection. Food is fairly typical bar food. Liked the German pretzel and the buffalo chicken sliders.

It being winter, not many restaurants were opened so ended up here. Not much of a selection for me being one who eats just seafood. But my friends liked the beer.

If you like great beer this is the place for you! My favorites are the Imperial Stout and the Imperial IPA, but you can't go wrong with any of their brews. Great pub food as well.

We have eaten here for years and while the food is okay, the service was friendly. We attempted to eat here the Thursday before MLK 2016 weekend. We walked in around 6p. The place was full - a number of folks looked up at us including the servers. NOT a word was said. Like we did not exist. So we... More

What I would give for a good beer coupled with some really good pub food... The Old Schoolhouse didn't do that, for me. My husband and I waited 30 minutes to be seated and while we were waiting I was eyeing the soup du jour and had big exciting plans to order it but they were out once we sat... More

The Old Schoolhouse Brewery is the kind of spot I hope to find whenever I'm traveling in a new place. It isn't perfect, but it is quirky and unique with a touch of local color. A spot where locals hang out and tourists cycle through. A good bar that offers an appealing place to while away a couple hours and... More

Stopped in after a day of snowshoeing and a disappointing visit to a different restaurant. We received 3 samples of beer and ordered the soup of the day (Black Bean) and a bowl of chili. Very much a friendly, local vibe with good service and excellent food - better than we expected for a brew house. We are not beer... More

Cozy atmosphere, great selection of brewed on site beers. Tasted several, and ended up taking a mid range beer, which was a great match with their very hearty chili! Perfect meal for a cold, snowy day after snowshoeing!

We tried to stop in here for a beer the evening before, but it was so packed we decided to try again the next day for lunch. Although there were lots of customers, we were able to find a comfortable table and noted the large, varied menu. The food and beer was good. Mellow, appealing atmosphere. The service was a... More
