Trout Lake doesn't have too many choices for dinner. We were in town for a wedding and did not want to travel far for dinner. There were wild sunflowers in vases on the tables, there were bugs that looked like fruit flies all over the flowers, I moved the flowers that were on our table to an empty table next... More

On our recent two night trip to Trout Lake, we found ourselves having dinner both evenings at the Trout Lake Country Inn. If you let yourself relax, plan to take an hour or two, and enjoy really good food, this is your place. If you want a quick bite and will get grumpy if things aren't smooth, perfect, and fast...why... More

This cute country roadhouse has been here for over 100 years, since the first tourists came via stagecoach and steamboat from Portland. It has an authentic backwoods persona that is warm and friendly. Food is fresh and home made. As semi-locals, we've eaten here often through the years. You can't beat a burger and fresh local microbrew at the end... More

This is pretty much it for dining in Trout Lake. The food is goosd but not over the top. Except for the Huckleberry pie (in season) which is awesome. Music on Sat nite for a small cover charge. It was busy on that night and it took 70 minutes to get a cheese plate and a bowl of soup. I... More

The food here was OK but the service was very slow. You have to come in with the attitude that you are just going to hang out for a while and not worry about it. I heard the waitress tell the people at the next table, who had been waiting for a while just to get water, that they could... More

This is a very homey place where locals hang out and tourists dine. It has a lot of character, as a historic building should have. Our dinners were very good, but the huckleberry pie was outstanding; not to be missed.

This place really looked great from the outside.....full of character and charm, and the perfect place for an early summer drink and meal. But.....altho the place was not packed by ANY means on this Saturday night, something was incredibly amiss, because I have never experienced such bad service. My husband and I ordered at around 8 p.m, after having waited... More

The rooms are extremely clean. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic. This is the closest motel to the South Side of Mount Adams.

When I heard there were only two restaurants in town I feared for the worst (anyone else hate "family dining"). But they have good food, using local sources whenever they can. The restaurant is an historical building itself and sits on very pretty property.

The bad review is NOT for the food, or the waitstaff that cook and serve the food. Those would both be 4 stars... they are amazing for breakfast. The poor review is for the owner (?) manager (?). My family lives in Trout Lake and we make frequent visits there from Portland for the weekend. I have had very bad... More
