Good sushi, average other-than-sushi

Stopped here blindly for light dinner near our downtown hotel. Had not read or heard any reviews. Understand it's under new ownership or management (not sure exactly which). Feel inside is Asian, but not necessarily Japanese. Has some quirky decor. It was a bit early (6:30p) and place was less than... read more

Feel inside is Asian, but not necessarily Japanese. Has some quirky decor. It was a bit early (6:30p) and place was less than half full. There wasn't anyone sitting at sushi bar,... More

The avocado roll, vegetable roll and agedashi tofu are to die for! I LOVE how perfectly the rice was cooked and seasoned, how perfectly ripe the avocados were, and how fresh and delicious the tofu dish was. WOW! My only wish is that they would have more vegan options; they use seafood and meat broth in a lot of items... More

My friend and I love sushi. We usually go to a conveyor belt sushi so this was VERY different for us. But we loved it. Everything was so good. Delicious. Great qualify. And our server Cruz was great too. Very friendly. Will be back for sure it was delicious.

We went in tonight at around eight and hoped to get a nice Japanese meal It wasn't crowded. There was live music that was a tad too loud for our taste, and we were seated in a poor place before we asked to move. It was quite a while until our order was taken. Everyone seemed to be standing around... More

Each person loved the food but sat around after we were eating for 45 minutes to get check. The periods between visits were way to long. If they were busy I would understand more but that was not the case.

Very fresh fish, with some traditional dishes and some very inventive rolls. The wait staff was cheery if overwhelmed by being understaffed the night we were there.

We enjoyed Two Koi. Service was fast. Decor is comfortable and fairly modern. The server recommended a bottle of Momokawa sake from Oregon which we enjoyed. Tempura was a bit greasy, but OK. Fish was fresh and the California rolls were made with real crab. Eel was a bit dry. It's just across the street from the Tacoma Museum of... More

The sushi here is good, but over-priced. And the other Japanese dishes are just not good. Seems more like a bar scene than a food scene anyway.

I asked the waitress for something with avocado, tuna, that had a spicy kick. She recommended the Tuna Box and it was great! Excellent sake selection as well! I also enjoyed the agadashi tofu as an appetizer.

The only downside in our meal was getting seated. It took the staff a while to acknowledge that we were there. After that, flawless! Sushi was interesting with choices we had not seen before. Prices were less than expected for this level of food. Service was there when you needed it and absent when not. Wine pours were generous, saki... More
