We don't live in the neighborhood (we don't even live in Tacoma!) but we consider the Rosewood to be our favorite neighborhood cafe. We hadn't been back in a while so today we grabbed a late lunch. My wife had the Tomato, Basil, and Brie sandwich and I enjoyed the Blushing Turkey Sandwich special with a cranberry/cream cheese/walnut spread. One... More

We've eaten here many times over the several years the Rosewood has been here and we have always had excellent food and friendly service. It's a few blocks down the street from the Proctor district on a corner in a quiet neighborhood - you could easily overlook it but stop in for a great meal. I especially like Rick's Dip,... More

I've returned several times. The menu is full of great lunch items such as salads and sandwiches. It can get a little loud when crowded and the interior seating isn't fabulous...but when the windows are open, it's a wonderful lunch spot with family or friends.

Wife and I have been here 3 or 4 times now, a nice out of the way spot down the street from the busier Proctor District. Smallish ( 7 or 8 four-tops and a few 2 tops, some outdoor seating in season) and often busy cafe, mainly good samwiches, salads and soups. Quality ingredients and breads. A few good beers... More

Loved this place so much we went back two days in a row during our visit. Great food and service. I wish I had a neighborhood restaurant as good as this.

Enjoyed lunch its fun to find a good local place. Rosewood Café has good sandwiches. I had a tuna melt with cappers & dill served on grilled bread. also ordered a club sandwich both were good. In the summer there is out door seating. Will return think would be enjoyable on a winter night, the Rosewood has a nice warm... More

This place used to be an old, family owned hamburger place where you could get fountain drinks. But the owners (who lived in the back) became old and no one took it over). Now they have a nice variety of wines and mostly sandwiches with simple salads. Many like it very much and I've met many of my neighbors there... More

This is my go-to in Tacoma; I drag all my friends here and promptly convert them with the delicious cowboy cookie, meatball sub, amazing vinaigrette dressing, and tasty wine. Great, personable staff, consistently good service, and absolutely delicious food at a good price point make this a must-eat if you find yourself in the North End.

Friends that live nearby this restaurant invited us for a Sunday lunch; what we discovered was a café with a heart. We were greeted by a friendly staff prepared to give suggestions for menu selections and happy to be of service. The pricing for selections was moderate and the overall experience makes us want to go back. Of Special Interest:... More
