Nice small neighborhood Cafe+

We always look for locally owned restaurants when we travel and this fit the bill. Friendly service , interesting menu and a plus if you wanted a good wine selection. Chicken pot pie was delicious and obviously homemade.

This is a neighborhood cafe with an easy menu of soup, salads, sandwiches, and dessert. We were a group of four. The sandwiches were enjoyed by three of us and I liked my cranberry and pear salad, especially knowing the greens were organic. The waitress let me sample a couple of ciders, which I enjoyed, so ordered half pint of... More

Went for a Sunday late lunch, around 2pm. First experience when we walked in was a man who said, in passing, "Take this one or that one" as he pointed to 2 open tables. No greeting, no smile, very rude. That was the theme the entire visit. I tried repeatedly to make a positive out of it, saying thank you... More

Not great selection for dinner or good for groups. Won't split checks for groups of 6. Food is ok. Location and setting is nice for sunny days.

We have been going to the Rosewood Cafe since they opened in our neighborhood. We really enjoy the food for lunch and dinner. The daily specials are usually yummy! The wine list is varied and good. The outdoor patio is small and faces the street, but it is a nice choice in a warm day. My only wish is that... More

Wonderful, fresh food in appropriate portions with good pricing. Their menu is small, but solid as is their wine list. The staff are friendly, fantastic and good with kids. The restaurant only has a couple handfuls of tables so they keep things moving, but it is comfortable enough you want to linger. I wish they had a little more space... More

I really want this restaurant to be good because it is in my neighborhood and there aren't many cafe's like it in Tacoma. A few years ago I tried it and although the food was okay (nothing special), the host/owner was terribly rude to us. I was taking my mother and a friend to lunch for her retirement. There were... This is such a lovely, cozy neighborhood place to have a good honest meal. We have always had a really great experience here. We love the staff, who are always friendly and attentive. Excellent sandwiches, soups and salads. We left tonight and remarked that we always love our experience here.

We don't live in the neighborhood (we don't even live in Tacoma!) but we consider the Rosewood to be our favorite neighborhood cafe. We hadn't been back in a while so today we grabbed a late lunch. My wife had the Tomato, Basil, and Brie sandwich and I enjoyed the Blushing Turkey Sandwich special with a cranberry/cream cheese/walnut spread. One... More

We've eaten here many times over the several years the Rosewood has been here and we have always had excellent food and friendly service. It's a few blocks down the street from the Proctor district on a corner in a quiet neighborhood - you could easily overlook it but stop in for a great meal. I especially like Rick's Dip,... More
