Hands down. Galanga was the best part of my recent visit. I was sick, losing my voice, and needing to lead a 2-day training. I opted for the 4 star spicy Ginger Wok with shrimp. Yum...l wish I could say that it cured me (not so much). But, despite the virus it tasted DELICIOUS. Not to mention the friendly, helpful... More

We decided to return to Galanga because it was close to the Tacoma First Night events. We love Thai food, and expected the best. Although it was more expensive, it did not hold a candle to our favorite Tacoma thai restaurant, the Oriental Noodle, across from Tacoma community college on Mildred.

This dinner was very enjoyable. This is a small establishment in Downtown that is a must for Thai food lovers. The staff was very friendly and were a strong part of the overall experience. I had the Penang Curry with chicken that was excellent, full of spice and flavor. I finished off my meal with a bowl of coconut ice... More

Don't let the subtle store front fool you, inside you will find a friendly atmosphere a good food. I enjoyed Swimming Rama with brown rice it was served promptly and hot. The fresh spinach could have cooked a bit longer and the dish cloths have come with a bit lot tree e peanut sauce. I will return to try the... More

Absolutely the best Thai we have ever eaten! Do yourself a favor....eat at Galanga's" the family run atmosphere is especially nice to be treated. The drunken noodles are awesome and the Thai iced tea is a meal by its self :-)

Like Thai food? You'll love Galanga. Nothing fancy about the atmosphere but menu full of great selections, including multiple options for vegetarians. Generous portion sizes and quick service. Provides carry out as well as eat in. Busy place because the food is so good.

The food at Galanga is good, fresh and flavorful. Their soup is delicious although kind of the the spendy side but their salad rolls are an absolute rip off...I will never order those again $5.00 for two tiny halves of a roll? Are you kidding me? I'll stick to making mine at home. The Phad Thai is delicious and you... More

My search for the perfect Larb Gai dish in Tacoma was found here. Second favorite was with Silk Thai on 6th. Overall, Galanga's food is the best Thai in Tacoma. Menu is a bit limited, but everything is fantastic. They do get busy. Good prices. Quality is fresh and excellent.

The Thai food is authentic and wonderfully prepared. Of course, you can order the dishes according to your preference for spice. There is a limited wine and beer list. This restaurant is a store front, so the atmosphere is cafe-like. Price is average. Great for kids.
