After exploring the downtown area, we were looking for a nearby restaurant and decided to try Fujiya after a web search. As out of towners, we were feeling a little lost on its downtown location until we spotted a sign for Fujiya. Fujiya is located off a court within a commercial building. Our server was friendly and attentive. The sushi... More

Probably the worst service and almost worst sushi we've had in a long time. Took 15 minutes after being seated before we had drinks and a menu. Took 25 more minutes to bring out two california rolls and an assorted sushi platter, and there was only two other tables with customers at the time. The california rolls tasted fine but... More

We grabbed a late dinner and the food was good, service prompt and the setting nice. Nothing exotic but for a good meal, I'd go again.

Returned to Fujiya for a family gathering after a three-year hiatus, and a great time was had by all. I ordered the Yasai-itame with shrimp, and the ginger sauce was tasty, the vegetables perfectly wokked. I went with three Sushi fanatics, and they'll have to speak for themselves, but I heard no complaints. Prices were comparable to our other favorite... More

Fujiya is not the fanciest, most expensive sushi in town. It's also not the cheapest. Fujiya's decor is not sumptuous. Parking is limited. But it's the best spot in town for sushi. The sushi is delicious and fresh. I love their sashimi plate- it's so fresh. It comes with all kinds of sides - usually a couple that the chef... More

I was a total stranger to Tacoma (and to WA!) and wanted to have a place for an evening outings with my bosses from Japan and Tacoma/Seattle clients. The local web led me here. We rent the whole place for the evening with variations of Japanese food prepared in a "party style". All the nice web reviews were indeed true.... More

This is my favorite place for sushi in Tacoma. It's no frills but the food is great. The customer service is also very good and the cooks always give us free food. We have been here a few times now and it is always good.

We went to dinner there with a group of 8 friends on a Friday night. We had made reservations and they had a table ready for us when we arrived. Everyone loved their dinners and the chef even sent us out a little surprise of tempura ahi to finish the meal. I was so STUFFED with all the great food,... More

My wife and I eat here once a year with our clogging buddies when we attend our annual clogging workshop at the Murano Hotel just down the street. We have never been disappointed with the food, but the service of said food is almost always slow. I realize that delicious, beautifully presented sushi such as this takes time to prepare.... More
