Fujiya is not the fanciest, most expensive sushi in town. It's also not the cheapest. Fujiya's decor is not sumptuous. Parking is limited. But it's the best spot in town for sushi. The sushi is delicious and fresh. I love their sashimi plate- it's so fresh. It comes with all kinds of sides - usually a couple that the chef... More

I was a total stranger to Tacoma (and to WA!) and wanted to have a place for an evening outings with my bosses from Japan and Tacoma/Seattle clients. The local web led me here. We rent the whole place for the evening with variations of Japanese food prepared in a "party style". All the nice web reviews were indeed true.... More

This is my favorite place for sushi in Tacoma. It's no frills but the food is great. The customer service is also very good and the cooks always give us free food. We have been here a few times now and it is always good.

We went to dinner there with a group of 8 friends on a Friday night. We had made reservations and they had a table ready for us when we arrived. Everyone loved their dinners and the chef even sent us out a little surprise of tempura ahi to finish the meal. I was so STUFFED with all the great food,... More

My wife and I eat here once a year with our clogging buddies when we attend our annual clogging workshop at the Murano Hotel just down the street. We have never been disappointed with the food, but the service of said food is almost always slow. I realize that delicious, beautifully presented sushi such as this takes time to prepare.... More

Nice place for having sushi, they have a wide range of combinations which are a bit different than usual. Service is friendly and fast. They don't even mind changing combinations to your personal flavor. I would not recommend taking the miso. Something was not quite right with that.

I can go without sushi for weeks, even months but then, all of a sudden, I will get a strong craving and I won't be happy until I get some. Fujiya is a favorite way to fix that. The food is top notch. The fish is lovely and fresh and the sushi, beautifully prepared. We will usually get gyoza and/or... More

If I knew more about the other sushi restaurants in Tacoma, the header could be - Best sushi in Tacoma. The bowl of edamame was large, enough for 3 to share and the drinks were quick and well poured. The nigiri and rolls were good - especially liked the Chris Maki - really good - almost ordered 2. One of... More
