Very Good at Reasonable Prices

Pomodoro is in the quaint Proctor district of Tacoma. It has the feel of a friendly local restaurant where one could easily become a regular. The decor is very nice, and the cooking odors delicious! We've eaten at a lot of Italian restaurants and Pomodoro's establishes another great benchmark for truly outstanding Italian food!

We were trying all the restaurants in the area and we went to this one the night after eating at the Europa Bistro. Right off the bat the bread at Pomodoro is not as good as the Europa's. It was more like supermarket French bread here--light and fluffy. I had the Ravioli di Portobello. I liked the mushrooms and zucchini... More

The food here is pretty good. Better than the Olive Garden, but I think the Cafe Europa around the corner has better Italian. That said, the Cafe Europa is more noisy. Good service here.

Spent an anniversary dinner there. Great food, big portions but I too have to mark down for the crowded feeling. People bumping into each others chairs behind you, was very annoying. If you got up to go to restroom, you bumped into at least 3 people at other tables.... Our table was RIGHT by the door and caused two of... More

Seated promptly on a sunny, early Sunday evening. Server was pleasant and attentive. Meals were nicely prepared and the saucing creative. The house speciality (Pork Chop - Pomodoro) was a bit overdone and dry to my liking although the sauce was inventive and tasty. In retrospect, probably should have ordered something else. The Seafood Medley was very good, nicely sauced... More

My husband and I decided to eat out after our children were at their venues over spring break (okay date night). It was a Friday night after 8:15 pm, we didn't have reservations as it was a last minute, let’s eat here. We were promptly seated even with a packed place, our server was outstanding, the food was delish. I... More

We made reservations for 3 to celebrate a birthday. Each of us enjoyed our food but our evening was ruined by a large group of 20(?) diners seated in the rear third of the dining room. They were literally screaming from one table to another! Since the restaurant is a bit noisy under normal circumstances this group made it miserable.... More

Cioppino, Halibut, Smoked Salmon Penne, and on and on....delicious, precise temperature at serving, presentation is beautiful and the aromas you receive when the plate is presented make you sit, sip a glass of merlot and admire what the chefs are sharing with you. It's an Italian restaurant to be sure~ loud, noisey, intimate, fun, full of laughter. I've taken our... More

Nice little restaurant with some interesting takes on Italian dishes. Service is very good. Fast and friendly. The place is a little noisy so be prepared. All in all, not a bad experience.
