Great service and cool view of the city from up the hill

Had an enjoyable dinner with friends, in a cool and comfortable steakhouse Wish I got the prime rib instead of short ribs, but I wasn't disappointed. The service was excellent. A bit loud next to a big group celebrating a birthday.

The view is nice, the wait staff were good and the food was okay. Prices were a bit high, you pay for the view. My only real negative, was that I froze during my meal. We were seated by the window to enjoy the view, but moved to an interior table that was a bit warmer.

We have been going to Stanley and Seaforts for our special celebrations for over 25 years now. It is still one of the premier restaurants in Tacoma. On a recent visit, both my wife and I ordered the prime rib. You will not go wrong with this choice. Cooked to perfection and with great flavor, I practically licked the plate... More

I've been here twice. The first time was several years ago and I remember it being fantastic. I visited again in September of 2015 and was really disappointed. The quality of food was so-so and the price was still expensive. Great view as I remembered, but more than likely will not go back.

I have been going to this restaurant more and more the last two years. Two days ago I took my brother there for his birthday lunch. As always, my reservation requests were fulfilled and whenever there is a birthday or anniversary to celebrate, they come through with a complimentary dessert. Great culture at this establishment. Every single person on the... More

Now, this is a restaurant that once had everything and now only has a great view if you can get a window table. I have never been so lucky or maybe it isn't luck that gets you there. The service and the great food have disappeared. What our party of four were served was a lot of disappointment in a... More

I'm into older restaurants and diners and Stanley & Seafort's has been around for a long time. Situated on the crest of the hill in east Tacoma, it overlooks downtown Tacoma, the dome and the water. It's a really cool view of the town. This is an old school steak house menu with higher end prices, but not as high... More

I suppose you pay for the view, but if you're with dining with great companions, you won't notice it for more than a few minutes and should dine elsewhere. We had high expectations having wanted to visit this restaurant for years. Our meals were mediocre; my husband and our companion were both sorely disappointed in the lobster tails they ordered.... We had the Columbia River Salmon and it was fabulous. We did order two pomegranate martinis's and had to send them back because they were not martinis's and too sweet. Next time I will order wine. They have changed the Key Lime Pie. I really liked the old one.

First of all I can see the recent reviews are all over the board. We had a large group, and the positives are the following: fantastic wait service and yummy appetizers, and I think we had one of everything, including the clams. We were all very happy, all the drinks served were very good, including the non alcoholic choices and... More
