Let me preface this with 3 items. 1) My Grandfather was Swiss-German and a chef. 2) I just returned from a week in Germany. 3) The waitress was wonderful. My wife and I stopped at Bruno's on the evening of our anniversary; looking forward to Bavarian cooking. She ordered the Jaegerschnitzel, cucumber salad, and spaetzle. I ordered the sauerbraten, spaetzle,... More

Wonderful service. Small and quaint with delightful menu choices. From the schnitzel to the red cabbage , the food is authentic and takes you back to Europe. The only bit of missing info on the menu is that soft drinks come to you in the can, not from the fountain. Excellent selection of beers and desserts. Don't miss this hidden... More

I saw this place featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and wanted to go. It's in kind of a non-descript industrial area in South Tacoma, but if you like good Central European food, this is the place to go. My wife's parents are from Poland, and we both like home-style food from there. The staff are super-friendly and the food... More

The last 2 years in a row when I have been in Tacoma, Washington I have passed Bruno's several times but did not have the time or think to stop here. I am so glad we did this time! Friendly staff, great food especially the schnitzel!! We were a party of 7 and glad they could seat us right away... More

Tuesday, 5 pm. Location is a little tricky to find because it is near an industrial/warehouse type of neighborhood. When we drove by the side of the building, there was a "closed" sign on the window and we were so disappointed. However, the parking lot was busy and the "open" sign up front was blinking...? They were open, yay! Another... More

I wrote a review on this place in February 2013, but there is one detail I (along with most other reviewers) seem to overlook - that of the deserts in this place. The "Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte" (Black Forest Cherry Cake) is popular as are several other European-style cakes and pastries. I can schedule a "Tee-Stube Meeting" or a "Kaffee-Klatsch" (between lunch... More

This is now our favorite European food in Western Washington. My wife and I had the Bruno's Schnitzel with spätzle and homemade sauerkraut. The kraut is homemade, and is simply amazing. It complements the meal. This experience was even better than my last. I haven't had a bad meal yet. The kids had pierogi's, which were a mix of either... More

We had been trying to get to this restaurant for a few months and finally went with some friends for lunch. Lunch seems to be busy, but we got seated right away. Parking is small so car pool when you can. Out of the way so a little hard to find. The food was very good and the service was... More

The food was terrific. I had the Zigeuner Schnitzel with cucumber and German potato salad, of course there was a German Pilsner that I could not pronounce too. The atmosphere was calm for this lunch and I really enjoyed everything about it. The wait staff was attentive and very helpful with the food selection. I will be back for sure.

I have been wanting to stop here for a long time, and now that I have I am grateful I did. The service was friendly, fast and helpful, they gave us newbies great suggestions. I had "Gypsy" schnitzel with cucumber salad & potato dumplings, I was surprised at how small the portions looked, but I was stuffed...and I can eat!!!!... More
