A Great Find in Tacoma

My friend and I had dinner there this week. She ordered the Geoduck Chowder and I ordered the Wild Boar. The food was fresh, excellently prepared, tasty, and unique (see picture below). I really wanted to like this place more, but it's just not that good. While the service was friendly, the decor was cheap and minimalist and not inviting, the atmosphere loud, and the menu/food items a mess (average at best) and a bit pricey for what it was. Clever cocktails were the only real draw. Not likely to return.

Marrow is an intense little space, that is truly focused on THE FOOD! The cocktail selections are equally sophisticated to pair with the no-nonsense menu. There is not a bite of wasteful fluff anywhere to be found. Every bite holds meaning. The Chef/Owner actually comes around to check on patrons and inquire as to their satisfaction. He is as intense... More

Since the sale of this once OUTSTANDING eatery a year ago, we've been hoping for a smooth transition of it's greatness by new ownership. Sadly this is NOT happening. The food quality is similar as the previous sous chef is now running the kitchen but still not the same innovative TOP quality and bizarrely interesting food choices of the past.... More

We enjoyed several delicious dishes during a recent happy hour, while people-watching from our window seat. The leek and mushroom toast was a great combination of ingredients and the cured salmon dish was also well done. We ended up staying past happy hour and ordering the bucatini dish off the dinner menu. The porkbelly and clams were a nice addition... More

I'm not sure who the perfect patron is for Marrow but it isn't quite us. We loved the ambiance and the creativity of everything on the food and drink menus. It seems like every option had just one ingredient to push it over the edge of fun and different to just far out. This might be appealing to many but... More

Their Marriow burger is the best meat I have ever had in a hamburger. It was so tender and melted in your mouth! Delicious flavorful French fries that they hand cut! Main problem is that they have such a limited menu which is a downfall to me. Nice people and just an okay atmosphere.

Marrow is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Tacoma. The food is so consistently flavorful and inventive. Whether stopping in for a martini and apps or staying for a meal, I'm never disappointed. The atmosphere is trendy and open. The menus always changing and interesting. Remains my "go to" spot in T-Town.

Passing through Tacoma last week and met friends at this delicious restaurant. Service was very friendly and helpful. Fun selection of cocktails and even kombucha on draft! Their interesting menu rotates frequently; I had the gnocchi with oxtail which delicious. Others had hamburgers (which looked great) and a fish entree. We'll definitely return here when back in the area.
