I am a local and visit Maxwell's approximately once a month. The food and cocktails are excellent. The ambiance is also great and there is sometimes live Jazz. This makes for a romantic date. However, there are some issues. In the fall and winter, it is quite cold inside, especially when you are seated close to the door. I am... More

Just go! I think you will enjoy it if you like thoughtfully prepared food, great drinks, good service and fantastic music. The chief is just 25 years old, and he is nailing it! We will go back the next time we are in Tacoma and YOU should too!

We went here for date night, last minute change of plans, so we didn't have a reservation. One warning, make a reservation. If you don't then you'll have a good chance of getting seated right next to the band. The music was very jazzy and lounge style, a nice compliment to the overall atmosphere. I had the Walker burger (one... More

This restaurant is a secret gem! The atmosphere is cozy and warm... the food, from appetizer to incredible entree is over the top... the wine and bar options are great... and on the right evening, there is excellent live Jazz!

If you're looking for Tacoma's BEST hamburger look no further than Maxwell's! The Walker Burger is simply divine and don't get me started about the Rib Eye Steak (can you tell we like beef). Maxwell's is our families (we have teenagers, it is not an appropriate restaurant for small children) favorite restaurant and the go to place for all birthday's... More

We have eaten here on a regular basis for years. We think the food is always great. We love the halibut, and the pan fried chicken. The wine list is good, in that there is a good selection and the prices are fair. However, something needs to be done about the staff! Honestly, I do not understand the attitude they... More

Love Maxwell's! The staff is amazing, the chef is incredible, and the food stands alone. Great atmosphere, interesting cocktails, good happy hour, and the live music on Friday nights is always fun!

We called two weeks prior to our prom to reserve seats and were told there was enough room to hold all twelve of us together. Then, two days until prom, we were called to be told that in fact there wasn't enough room for all of us together and we had to get split up between two tables, back to... More

Very nice restaurant. This is my first time during the summer. I have to admit I love the lights and ambiance in the winter. With that said, it is very nice any time of the year. Nice to see the use of Tacoma beer and great cocktails. The food and service were excellent. Would recommend a visit in a neighborhood... More

Where to start. Off the dinner menu, love the Filet Mignon. Seared half chicken is also very good. The Halibut Wrapped in Prosciutto was a favorite with my friends, did not try it. Lounge or happy hour menu favorites are the grilled chicken and grilled tenderloin skewers. Off the cocktail menu, love the pear ginger lemon drop. Parking can be... More
