If you have one stop in Tacoma, stop here. The service was great, the view spectacular, and the chowders unsurpassed. The only complaint is that the menu is so well constructed that it's hard to choose without feeling some regret, but in the case of the chowders they have addressed that issue by allowing you to sample a little of... Such a great view of the sound! We've never had a long wait and have enjoyed our meals here each time. Prices are a bit higher than comparable restaurants in the area, but the chowder and uncrabcakes cannot be compared! Those are definitely our favorites.

The restaurant has an incredible view and a great deck for dining on sunny days. The Blackened Salmon Cobb salad was great, and even though I got the small version, it was plenty. Their sourdough bread is also very good. They have great cocktails and a friendly staff. They are an expensive option for lunch, but the food is always... More

We have been to West Seattle a few times, on sunny days we head over there for a beach day. We sat on the top deck which offers a great view of the water and is also a great people watching spot. We had the Fish and Chips (Cod) and the Goat Cheese and Pesto Quesadilla. Both were excellent and... More

We did not make a reservation and our wait time was very minimal (2-3 minutes). The waitress was friendly and the service was excellent. She frequently glanced at our table to make sure that our drinks were filled and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The ambiance was better than I thought it would be. It was... More

We loved the outdoor seating on the Sound. We had two different types of chowder and both were good. We'd go back if we go to the area again!

I had a steak which was very good, they also have a couple of appetizers of prawns, and both of those are definitely recommended. Their desserts are all worth it.

Food, service, ambiance all excellent from the appetizer to the dessert! Also, they have a club that you can join and get a free chocolate eclair for joining and a free one on your birthday also! My only disappointment was that they were out of the Worlds Best Carrot Cake (all of the Fathers must have eaten them yesterday! Lol).... More

We decided to try Dukes while staying in the area and we are glad we didn't miss out. We tried to call ahead for reservations but the hostess told us they were no longer taking reservations for the evening and our chances of getting seated were slim. When we arrived, we waited all of 10-15 mins and were seated (not... More

Two of us went to Duke's Chowder House for dinner about a week ago. The food was extraordinary. One of us ordered scallops on pumpkin ravioli and the other a filet mignon salad. The scallops and ravioli was delicious and the steak salad was outstanding!! There restaurant is located on Commencement Bay along Ruston Way with great views of the... More
