This was our second visit here - this time we brought our family. Although we reserved seating way in advance and we asked for window seating - they still placed us up away from the window and near the kitchen. The restaurant was not full when we arrived as we booked an early dinner time knowing how crowded they can... More

I am not a seafood eater but our party of 8 all adore it so I found myself here at Duke's in Tacoma. They all loved the food and I loved my burger. The place was packed and there were smiling faces everywhere so it must be good.

Did a carry out Dungeness crab and prawn salad and it was so good that we wish we'd had time for a full dinner here. Crisp chopped salad with a hearty complement of crabmeat, three perfectly cooked shrimp (really though, to be prawns they should be bigger) , a killer house dressing and the accompanying sour dough bread was the... Don't miss having a bowl of their superb clam chowder....best I've ever had. Dinners are wonderful, celebrations on the deck too. Happy hour has a great selection. Drinks are affordable. If the weather co operates, I love to sit on the deck and enjoy the view!

Staying overnight in Tacoma for my daughters fencing tournament, she wanted seafood, so we asked the hotel for suggestions. Once we saw the menu on their website we knew this is were we wanted to go. Nice atmosphere located on Puget Sound. If you can't decide which of the 5 chowders to choose, order the full boat sampler. It is... More

Good food and atmosphere with pleasant and efficient staff. Blackened black cod tacos are tasty but you had better be hungry if you choose the full order of 3! And the chowder...after all it IS a chowder house and they do it right. Went on a football weekend Friday night at 6 and wait was only about 10 min. Perfect... More

My family and I had a lovely lunch outside at Duke's in August. I had the chowder and caesar salad. I loved both. Waiter was friendly and attentive. We couldn't have asked for more.

Be sure to have the chowder, but beware that servings are large. Our salmon dinners were great and we had enough left over to enjoy them for lunch the next day.

Duke's is always fun, but is at it's best on a warm day & the deck can be enjoyed. The happy hour menu is fun and a good value served 3-6 & after 9 in the bar & on the deck. My wife enjoyed a Bloody Mary served with 2 grilled shrimp in a neat glass. I had a Old... More
