This is near my home so we used to go there once a month or so; the food is generally very good but the prices have always been a bit on the high side for bar food. If one likes the tavern/bar setting with good food and doesn't mind spending more than the going price for a meal, I would... More

Duke's is on the Puget Sound waterfront in a scenic area north of downtown Tacoma. There is beautiful view out the windows. Ordered the Salmon Pasta, and the Clam Chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. The salmon was wild caught and delicious - I asked for it to be cooked Medium (I don't care for rare salmon) and it was... More

We live in Vancouver, Wa. One day we said "Hungry for gooood seafood. Where to go?" We both decided Duke's was the one...even if it was a 2 hr drive. Yes, it's that good!!! We always have their trio of chowders. Its thick and chunky. No skimping on the fish. Same for all their dishes. Also had a great mojito... More

First meal we had in town... Clam Chowder is the absolute best!!! Clam Strips & Coco Loco Shrimp were very tasty, and our entrees were the Stuffed Halibut & Mixed Seafood Grill. Everything was delicious & we had great service... Highly recommend!!!

The valet at my hotel first recommended Dukes to us. He described it as a place that the locals frequent. I was in town on business weekly, but my husband had joined me for a week. We checked it out the first time, and fell in love with Dukes. In fact we visited 3 times that same week. The location... More

This was our second visit here - this time we brought our family. Although we reserved seating way in advance and we asked for window seating - they still placed us up away from the window and near the kitchen. The restaurant was not full when we arrived as we booked an early dinner time knowing how crowded they can... More

I am not a seafood eater but our party of 8 all adore it so I found myself here at Duke's in Tacoma. They all loved the food and I loved my burger. The place was packed and there were smiling faces everywhere so it must be good.

Did a carry out Dungeness crab and prawn salad and it was so good that we wish we'd had time for a full dinner here. Crisp chopped salad with a hearty complement of crabmeat, three perfectly cooked shrimp (really though, to be prawns they should be bigger) , a killer house dressing and the accompanying sour dough bread was the... Don't miss having a bowl of their superb clam chowder....best I've ever had. Dinners are wonderful, celebrations on the deck too. Happy hour has a great selection. Drinks are affordable. If the weather co operates, I love to sit on the deck and enjoy the view!
