Over rated food but great view

For out of town visitors You will find a large seafood brasserie menu but likely the execution will not meet your expectations. All seafood salad had excellent quality dungeoness crab meat but over dressed greens. Halibut quesadillas dripped in griddle oil, while the chowders- all of them were... read more

For out of town visitors You will find a large seafood brasserie menu but likely the execution will not meet your expectations. All seafood salad had excellent quality dungeoness crab meat but over dressed greens. Halibut quesadillas dripped in griddle oil, while the chowders- all of them were way too salty. I've been to Duke's many times and have reviewed them before but this last visit was definitely a pleasure. I still consider Duke's to be more of a Bar than a restaurant even though they have excellent food. This visit I had their "Mighty Mussels “El Duque”" as an appetizer followed by the "Holy Macadamia Halibut", and I must say... More

Met friends from Fox Island here for dinner (we met half way). Laura, our server, was great! Attentive and around when we needed her but not overbearing. Perfect! Always with a smile. I ordered the mussels appetizer and a Young and Old Fashioned, spouse had the 3-piece fish and chips. Others at the table had a cheeseburger, the coconut prawns,... More

Love Duke's Restaurant. Great food, wonderful view, even on the misty, moisty days with one of their fabulous chowders in front of you. How can you not feel warmed to the core?

Dukes has a wonderful happy hour! Sit in the bar area and enjoy specials for food and drinks. There is a late night happy hour too! We love the cucumber mojitos and coconut shrimp. The wine specials are nice during happy hour too. Check out the full menu for amazing fish dishes and salads. The halibut is always a good... More

I've been here 3 different times during my travel and each time it was great. You must make room for the Marionberry Pie.

I'm sure if I had visited during the day and dined at a table outside my opinion would change. I visited after the sun had set, so I had a table in the dining room. The nautical décor is fantastic. The chowder really is award-winning. For a top-ranked restaurant, I would hope that service would be better. My waiter didn't... More

Me, my wife and an elderly friend were looking for a new place to grab a bit of lunch and this restaurant was recommended by several of my wife's co-workers. We had not made a reservation so there was a short, but tolerable wait to get a table. The table had a nice view of the bay although it would... More

We were driving through Tacoma and looking for a place to eat so we stopped at Duke's. There was a short wait but not too long. We had a great meal with a great view of the water. Overall a good meal. I would go back again.
