Happy Hour on the Deck

I think the Stanwood Grill has the best happy hour offerings around, unlike most local spots that mostly offer nachos and deep fried food. I stopped here on June 25 for a bite to eat and sat on the deck. I had a lemon drop martini, a great salad, and ahi tuna. Everything was quite good and the... read more

Stanwood is a small town - everything happens on a few blocks of the main street. The weekend that we visited, there was a car show lining the streets. We stumbled upon the Stanwood Grill and were pleasantly surprised. Some seating is available outside on a small deck facing the main street. We sat inside at a booth along the... More

We used to go to the Roadhouse at leat once a week before it changed owners and it's name to the Paddle Pub. It really needed a face lift and the new owner did a good job there (except the stools on the bar area, very uncomfortable). That's where the improvements stop. The food is okay, but WAY over priced. The... More

I've been there a few times since I live in stanwood. The service is excellent. Food is delicious. I couldn't believe it's not on top of the stanwood list.

good diversity on the menu. lots to choose from. we had the calamari and a wedge for an app, bottle of wine. wa pinot grigio and it was only like $25. not bad for an $11 bottle at the store. the aioli that came with the calamari was so freaking awesome. had their pan fried oysters and wife had the... We have been going to the Stanwood Pub & Grill for over 10 years, ever since we moved to the area.. It is a family operated, neighborly diamond-in-the-casual that is a distinctive relaxed adjunct to the parent Mount Vernon Max Dale's Steak & Chop House. The fortés are steak and seafood with the weekend prime rib a specialty I never... More

So they advertise King Salmon on the menu -- after all this is the Northwest -- but it was farm raised. No taste. Also, they need to learn how to cook a steak. You sear the outside on high heat, don't just warm it over a gas grill. It was served rare which I wanted, but a mircowave would have... More

This place is somehow connected to Max Dale's in Mt. Vernon. Believe it's the same family ownership. Food at the Stanwood Bar and Grill is always consistent. Seems to be busy whenever I stop in. Wish they would bring back the molasses steak, though! It was too die for! And the Smoked salmon fettuccine was very good too. Think they've... More

Stanwood and Camano Island aren't known for their fine dining, but Stanwood Grill is one of the upcoming eateries that could change that. Upscale, but good value. The best meal we had in the twin cities, by far. Extensive wine list, with many local wineries represented.
