I can say that it is a novel use of an old railcar and that there is nothing horribly wrong with their food. I did, after a few visits, find no reason to go there anymore. It's a cramped Perkins with slow and cold food

Our local hotel didn't include breakfast, so for once, we went out for breakfast on a trip. And we were so lucky that we were in Spokane, because Frank's was incredible! All of us enjoyed our meals, but the two of us who had the Huckleberry Oatmeal found ourselves almost wanting to drive back across the state the next day... More

We were led here by our hotel staff and they were bang-on! We needed a more traditional breakfast (read: grease!) after a late night out on the town and Frank's did not disappoint. The restaurant is built from an old railcar of some sort and it is kitsch and awesome in all the right ways. Sit at the bar if... More

It looks like a historic dining car....because it is a historic dining car. Transplanted from the urban Seattle area and plunked on Spokane's west side about 2 blocks North of the Maple/Walnut Street interchange. We always ask for counter seats so we can watch the action "in the kitchen" which is opposite the counter. They have booth seating as well.... More

Want a good diner breakfast? Want to be entertained at the same time? Have breakfast at Frank's Diner and sit at the counter. The food is tasty, plentiful, and reasonably priced. If you sit at the bar you get to watch the short order cooks prepare the meals--they work as a well-oiled (or greased) machine. I think other meals would... More

Great place to get a fried on the flat top greasy breakfast. Crisp bacon & hash Browns. Eggs any way you like them. The place can get busy & cramped, & expect long waits on Sunday morning. Train car dining is a fun atmosphere and the service is usually top notch.

Having had the worst Chinese food ever (a review is forthcoming) the night before in Spokane, it was restorative to breakfast the next morning aboard Frank's Diner...aboard because the venue is a real high-end railway car from the early days of railroading. This would not make much difference had the breakfast not been superb. I had fried green tomatoes, a... More

The old rail car setting is pleasant, the wait staff was excellent. Arrived at 7AM, so there was no wait. The coffee was mediocre. The orange juice was bland. The wife’s bacon was excellent and the hash browns very good. Her scrambled eggs were cooked so dry to the point of rubber. I had the creole benedict. The sauce was... More

Stopped here because of trip advisor and had nice hot food. The french swiss dip was tasty. You can have breakfast anytime. Asked for crispy hashbrowns and they were only crispy on the outside.

We eat breakfast here when we are in Spokane. You always have to wait because it is so popular. But free coffee and a seating area are provided while you wait. The employees are cheerful and quick. The menu is large and the food is very good. And it's a fun experience.
