This restaurant had a decline in quality after a change in ownership or management, but it has bounced back. Diverse menu and great drinks. Great hamburgers and onion rings. Worth a try.

Nothinh fancy -- you want great food and a cold beer at a decent price in downtown Spokane? Then this is worth the stop. Not too many people for a Sunday at 2:30, but not a dissappointment as well.

Being University of Wisconsin alums we thought "The Onion" was a comic newspaper. This restaurant was not a joke. Decor is good and the food was excellent. We asked the motel manager for a recommendation and without hesitation he said the Onion. We are glad we asked. The Spicy Seared Sticky Prawns were well prepared and very tasty. The top... More

Stopped by the 'Onion' today for a late...and what turned out to be a very good lunch. Cold beers brought to the table with a smile started things off well. We then ordered Macho Nachos with 'extra' jalapenos, a turkey bacon sandwich, a strawberry salad, and a Swiss dip sandwich. The food arrived in a very short time with all... More

We went to the Onion twice on our visit to Spokane. It has such a large menu, you could eat there for weeks and never get the same thing. Great atmosphere and service. We were lucky to get the same waitress twice and she was so attentive and pleasant. Halibut fish and chips and Epicurean mac'n cheese were really good.... More

Have eaten at The Onion several times while on layover (flight crew). Obviously, I like it. Service has always been first rate, except for one occasion when it was indifferent at best. I attribute that to the individual server.

Had dinner at the Onion on Saturday night after a long day of volleyball. We were a group of 6 adults and 5 17-18 year olds. There were already 3 large groups in the restaurant when we arrived and were told it would be at least 20-30 minutes before they could take our order. We were ok with that and... More
