Probably the best fried chicken I have ever had. I am not a big fried chicken guy but they are seriously in a league of their own. My friend ordered the catfish sandwich and had nothing but positive things to say. My only complaint is how expensive it is. 3 piece chicken with two sides will cost you $13! Crazy!... More

A block or two away from the "upscale" downtown shops and eateries I found this little hole-in-the-wall joint. I will always choose a mom and pop place over a chain when it's just me. This place was awesome. I got the southern fried chicken which came with two sides and a roll. The chicken was really good, the sides were... More

After reading the reviews and meeting Bob we went to try it out. We were the only one's in the place. We both ordered the day's special, 3 piece chicken dinner. We were warned that the chicken would take 20 minutes which sounds like Broasted Chicken. Our food was served on paper plates with plastic untensils. The side of Chili... More

The lunch wasn't terrible but way overpriced. This is not Southern Fried Catfish. Maybe the nearest thing to southern food is to drive to a cracker store in Missoula. The beans were way too sweet. The gumbo was alright. Why would a "southern" style restaurant serve cheap dinner rolls instead of biscuits or cornbread?

This is a great place for individuals who love meaty BBQ. I had the beef brisket sandwich, and a side of fried jojo's. The sandwich was incredibly satisfying, with amazing flavor (the meat was fatty, but delicious). The jojo's were good, but nothing to write home about. I'm looking forward to a pulled pork sandwich tomorrow.

Went for supper here for our first evening while in Spokane. Being from Alberta Canada, we haven't had many experiences with BBQ/Southern style Cooking. All in all, we were quite pleased with our meals. My wife had the 2-piece chicken meal, and I had the Rib/Chicken combo. Wife said the chicken was a tad greasy, but quite good. I enjoyed... More

I have lived here a while and had never tried this place. I'm originally from Texas, as is the owner, so I was intrigued to see what was passing for southern cooking in Spokane, Washington. First off, it isn't cheap...Spokane wise. This is my home, but Spokanites can be some of the cheapest people around who will eat garbage if... More

I go here at least once a month with family or friends. The owner is a great guy and loves to talk to the patrons and they have the best bbq in town without question.

Went there for the first time. Had the chicken dinner. Lots of food. The sides were okay (greens and mashed potatoes). The chicken was excellent! Staff is friendly. Good value. Parking in downtown can be a little annoying and there aren't many seats.

It was not the best fried chicken I've had before, but sure was pretty good. It was crispy on the outside with thin breading and very juicy inside. The flavor was good and it wasn't too greasy. The ribs were a bit on the dry side for me but the sweet and tangy BBQ sauce was amazing.
