Delightful southern soul food....

My husband and I stopped here with some family from North Carolina. To my ultimate surprise it is some of the best Texas BBQ I have ever had. They make some great sauces as well and if you are in the mood for a real tasty treat stop on in. The price was right and the portions of food along... read more

Great food...overly priced. I've been there a few times the last time(s) was when i went to find out info about take out catering...Quiet time of day...he quoted me but kept upping the amount I'd need. I said that I'd be back to place an order. I came during lunch time. He took an order from a guy behind me... More

I met some Family here for what I thought was gonna be a slab in slab out lunch and found Southern BBQ at its finest. At first I was gonna offer My Wife a taste of the pork sandwich I ordered, but after the first bite I could not. I wound up finishing off the brisket sandwich she ordered. I... More

I would say this is the best BBQ joint in downtown. The ribs are good. I'm not really a fan of their BBQ sauce, but it still ok.

We love barbeque, and unfortunately can't make it to Texas very often. Chkn-N-Mo is a very close second and much less expensive than flying to Texas. The ribs and the brisket are some of the best we have ever eaten. The sauce is spicy with a hint of sweetness. The beans and rice are excellent. We rarely have room after... More

Probably the best fried chicken I have ever had. I am not a big fried chicken guy but they are seriously in a league of their own. My friend ordered the catfish sandwich and had nothing but positive things to say. My only complaint is how expensive it is. 3 piece chicken with two sides will cost you $13! Crazy!... More

A block or two away from the "upscale" downtown shops and eateries I found this little hole-in-the-wall joint. I will always choose a mom and pop place over a chain when it's just me. This place was awesome. I got the southern fried chicken which came with two sides and a roll. The chicken was really good, the sides were... More

After reading the reviews and meeting Bob we went to try it out. We were the only one's in the place. We both ordered the day's special, 3 piece chicken dinner. We were warned that the chicken would take 20 minutes which sounds like Broasted Chicken. Our food was served on paper plates with plastic untensils. The side of Chili... More

The lunch wasn't terrible but way overpriced. This is not Southern Fried Catfish. Maybe the nearest thing to southern food is to drive to a cracker store in Missoula. The beans were way too sweet. The gumbo was alright. Why would a "southern" style restaurant serve cheap dinner rolls instead of biscuits or cornbread?

This is a great place for individuals who love meaty BBQ. I had the beef brisket sandwich, and a side of fried jojo's. The sandwich was incredibly satisfying, with amazing flavor (the meat was fatty, but delicious). The jojo's were good, but nothing to write home about. I'm looking forward to a pulled pork sandwich tomorrow.
