Xinh herself was cooking tonight and I was lucky enough to be invited into the kitchen to give her my compliments on her cooking. Visiting from the East Coast was my excuse for not visiting the restaurant for two years. If you are a sushi lover, I suggest you ask for an off the menu order of geoduck (giant clam)... More

One advantage of living in Puget Sound is that you get to know seafood and shellfish -- what's fresh, what's good, what's well prepared. Add a discriminating palate and high standards in the chef, and the result could be something like Xinh's. Set in an unassuming storefront in downtown Shelton, Xinh's provides excellent Vietnamese-influenced cooking at reasonable prices. I had... More

I know that's saying a lot. But I've eaten a lot of seafood, and I live in an area where seafood-especially clams, oysters, shrimp, etc, come to the table so fresh that they're (almost) still kicking (if clams had legs). We KNOW what fresh shellfish tastes like. When you go to Xinh's, you find that Madame Xinh knows how to... More

When USA Today and Forbes take the time to gush over a small town restaurant its got to be decent. Shelton, a town of only 10,000, could not support an eatery of this caliber. People from all over Puget Sound and the Olympic Peninsula make a special effort to taste her exquisite preparations. At other restaurants you eat, at Xinhs... More

The Seafood at Xinh's is amazing and tasty! Xinh, the chef, has recipes that no one else has. My husband favors the chioppino served over pasta, and he frequently orders it without the pasta, as well. I favor the prawn dishes but the fresh fish is amazing here, too. Last night's special was fresh halibut!! YUMMM! We started with egg... More

Xihn makes some of the best chicken curry I have ever had. What the place lacks in atmosphere and decor is totally made up for by Lynn's service at the table and Xihn's amazing curry! Amazing and like no other in my opinion.

We have been told by a number of people that we should go here. I have tasted their food and the Allyn Days weekend in the summer as they prepare some of the food. I have been looking and looking for a great (not just good) restaurant in Mason County. There just just doesn't seem to be any at all.... More

I am picky about oysters. The ones served in the stew are small and succulent. She uses just enough butter. My father loved oyster stew and as an adult I have sampled many stews from coast to coast. When I say something is the greatest it is. After a large bowl the main dish ends up being next days meal.

Highly recommended by locals but not that great. Cold room, slow service and so so seafood. I wouldn't go back.
