Still excellent unique food

We go for the excellent and unique food. Service is hit and miss, but still friendly. Even with a reservation we waited 30min which I understand they can't kick those out who choose to make an evening out last all night in one place! They could however comp a beer or dessert for the wait. We have... read more

First thing I'll recommend is that you make reservations or you'll be waiting a very long time for a table...if you get a table at all. Local ingredients prepared with amazing flavor and interesting combinations. I've tried nearly everything on the menu and I've never had a meal at Alder Wood Bistro that I didn't absolutely love. The homemade desserts... More

Hidden away on Alder Street, this is Sequim's gourmet treasure. Run by Chef Gabriel Schuenemann, you can count on consistently delicious, organic, locally based-foods transformed to delectable and beautiful meals. The wines are carefully chosen to complement the menus, and we have been introduced to some local winery products that were fantastic. Beers and Ales for the purists are here... More

This little gem has an enticing menu, and mostly delivers on the goods. It is busy on a Friday night and reservations are highly recommended. They make great use of local ingredients, with portion sizes tending a little small. The staff is friendly and the location is understated. The homemade bread is divine and their salads are delicious. Our protein... More

Once again another first-rate meal at this bistro. We had our favorites which we shared - their calamari salad and the steak and frites (sweet potato for us) with aioli - and tried the ravioli special. They use excellent ingredients and everything is interesting and imaginatively prepared. A fine flourless chocolate cake and well-prepared coffee topped it off. Prices here... More

This isthe go to place for special times in Sequim. The duck is great, as well as the steak, which we had. As other reviews point out this place is a bit spendy. Very hard to get out with two meals, two glasses of wine and a shared desert for less than $100. But the food is wonderful making it... More

This is one of our favorite restaurants in the world, and we have traveled a lot. The atmosphere is low key, nothing special, but nice. The service isquick, friendly, and not stuffy. One would feel comfortable here in any clothes. The owners are a married couple. The wife manages the dining room, while the husband mans the kitchen. The food... More

We had twice before attempted to visit the Alder Wood Bistro, but had not had the foresight to get reservations. This time we planned ahead, and arrived to find our table ready and a good two hours of indulgence ahead. The food was exceptional, much of it locally-sourced, and while the price tag was higher than we would normally pay... More

If you are looking for a small (reservations advised) dining establishment in Sequim, Washington, that provides well prepared meals from locally sourced ingredients, you couldn't do much better that Alder Wood. There are many vegetarian offerings and local seafood such as salmon and oysters can be paired with one of the many wines or beers available. Definitely recommend reservations as... More
