Great food, questionable service

Went twice to this restaurant. Very busy and don't go if you want a quiet time. Very noisy and floor felt like it was moving every time the wait staff walked behind our chairs. The omelet was delicious and large, 2 meals. The wait staff was good the first time but we also went on a Sunday morning... read more

We will start visiting Sequim every couple months for business. I wanted to find some restaurants to try so checked Tripadvisor. Alder Wood Bistro definitely looked promising and we were not disappointed. We were glad that we made dinner reservations as suggested. The restaurant was definitely busy although it was mid-week. Lots of interesting items on the menu but we... More

Mid-week, nice day, ate out back. Shared calamari, oysters, and truffled frites--all side dishes. Was plenty of food for us. Cabernet Franc was very good. Would return.

We had dinner at the Alderwood for a special occasion, and it was a wonderful meal. The setting is comfortable and relaxed, the staff were friendly and conscientious. And the food, from the Calamari salad, through the duck and nectarine flatbread, right through to the chocolate desert was flawless, interesting, delicious, and locally sourced. We enjoyed the evening so much... More

My husband and I last ate here 2 summers ago and I was thrilled to return. It was every bit as wonderful as I remember it. Last time I had the perfectly seasoned, cedar-planked black cod and have dreamed of it since. Serendipitously, they ran out of the cedar-planked salmon special and asked if they could substitute black cod? YES... More

We had the wood fired veggie pizza and small salad. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We are going back before we leave.

We travel to Sequim about once a month, and Alder Wood Bistro is a must stop. Recently we have been having lunch in the charming back yard. Try Gabriel's wonderful pastrami sandwiches, and save room for dessert. You really can't go wrong at this wonderful restaurant.

First visit to this area & looking for a decent pizza, we certainly found it here ! We saw several interesting meals being served & will be returning to try something different. Also we went on a Wednesday & there was live music ( a couple playing folk songs) that was very good. All in all the food & the... More

My husband and I celebrated our 29th anniversary with dinner at the Alder Wood Bistro. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable. The service was attentive but not intrusive. We shared the Mussels appetizer, pleasantly surprised by the large portion of mussels and the flavorful broth. The server thoughtfully brought more home made bread so we could dip and savor every... Yes this place is small. But worth the wait if you choose to & don't have a reservation like us. We chose to be seated right away outside in the garden. Great place to enjoy the great food. Plus they had live music & we really enjoyed it. We shared a pizza Americana and each had a summer salad, plus... More
