The restaurants in Sequim do not look like anything special except for the Alderwood, where I think I had dined several years ago. The variety of dishes on the menu is not great but the food is excelent.. Service was good considering the place was packed. Try it and you should not be disappointed.

We ate twice at alder wood and loved it both times. Perfect breads with a great lentil spread. A perfect salad with exquisitely fresh greens, apples, figs, and cheese with a light sherry vinaigrette. And the main courses were excellent : the cedar grilled salmon, the fungi flatbread, and the mussels with great fries. And the service, particularly Tanya, was... More

I and a friend walked in without reservations but we were luckily accommodated. We were referred by several businesses in the area and were starving. The place itself is a renovated home but nicely decorated and set up. It is a "cozy" atmosphere but everyone who patronizes this place seems quite friendly. I had the special of Cedar Planked Salmon,... More

We ate at Alder Wood twice. It is a really friendly place frequented by many locals as well as tourists. The food emphasises fresh local ingredients prepared with a light touch. The ambience is great..fun and buzzing, and the service is friendly and informal but very attentive and efficient.

We had dinner here this week and had a great experience. Many restaurants give lip service to local sourcing, but Alder Wood Bistro walks the walk. Every dish indicates whether the ingredients come from the immediate area or from a somewhat wider area (but still within 100 miles). Perfectly prepared and delicious from appetizers through dessert. This place earns its... More

At least that we have eaten! We had a wonderful fresh(!) strawberry/tomato/goat cheese salad, seafood pasta and buckwheat crepe. Portions and presentation were perfect. Birthday dessert was a chocolate torte that melted in our mouths, no chewing required. The ambiance was very nice, if a tad bit loud, and we enjoyed our server very much. Eat here!

Well, my title says it, for the most part. We had mussels, planked fish, carbonara and wine, all of which were fresh and organic. They were prepared well, moderately flavorful. I have nothing bad to say about the food, but......the fish portion was about 2 inches wide and 4 inches long, the carbonara bowl was a small portion, there were... More

Environment and community come together to help the chef make you wish you had a bigger stomach. I had a chicken special prepared to perfection with the tastiest mirepoix I have ever had. The service was correct and prompt. Don't miss this place if you are anywhere near Sequim.

We visited Alder Wood Bistro over Labor Day weekend with friends. Although it was a last minute reservation and they were pretty much booked, they were to able to squeeze us in for a later evening seating, outside on the patio. It ended up being a fairly chilly and breezy night, but the staff did everything possible to ensure our... More
