I live in Sequim so Black Bear is a regular stop for me. Good , simple food, huge portions and fantastic biscuits. Unless you are a big, big eater plan on taking some home.

Thanks! Yes, you can usually count on dividing the cost of a Black Bear Diner meal in half because we feed you the next day at home with your leftovers too! More

You can fill up at a low price. And beer and wine. Certainly not upscale, but not fast food. Seems family-friendly.

Really cannot recommend. Since its opening, everything has been wrong. Service ways slow, even just getting seated at a clean table, even when there are few customers. Food takes a long time to arrive, then is cold & of poor quality. Servers do not come back to check on diners. Once had to go to front of restaurant to ask... More

We are so sorry we didn't live up to your expectations especially the long wait times for food. We don't have a central food processing plant and most all of our food is home-made, so we are not as fast as other chains. Sorry we were slow on getting you extra utensils too, but we hope you will come back... More

This was our first time at this diner. We saw many billboards along highway I-5 for this chain so we decided to try it. The "bear theme" is a little cute for my taste but the food did not disappoint. We sat at the counter so we were able to see LOTS of plates being served before we made our... More

This isn't my first review of Black Bear Diner but it is the first review for this location. It did not fail to please. The food, of course, was generous and prepared perfectly. The service was exceptional in that we had everything we needed and asked for. Our server was so good we came back a second time in a... More

We dined at Black Bear, in Sequim, WA last evening. There were 4 of us we arrived late. The meal was served promptly. It was hot, good and properly presented. Our waitperson was very nice accommodating, she checked on us regularly, offering water, more coffee and such. I had not been there in a while since the reviews from my local... More

Bill, thanks for your thoughtful review. We are glad to be held to such high community standards! We continue to make almost all our meals from scratch, so so our food does take longer to prepare and we do have longer wait times than other restaurants. That being said we will continue to work to shorten wait times, but we... More

What a darling restaurant and loved the carved wooden bears all over the property and restaurant. Be sure to save plenty of room for dessert!! or share with someone. The desserts are huge and delicious. The chocolate lava cake is even gluten free but you wouldn't know it. It tasted amazing - ohhh so rich chocolate. It was a fun... More

Brought entire family to eat here on way to Ocean Shores. I am always lured by their great customer service and especially the food! My family LOVED it! Great portions, plated beautifully - you want to eat it and it is really, really, good! We arrived around 11 am, waited a bit for coffee, but it's understandable as they were... More

This is the first chicken fried steak that was done right. It still needs work on the sausage gravy, but I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my sausage gravy. It's the closest thing to Mr. Bill's who made the absolute best c.f.s. (Unfortunately, apts. were built where their restaurant sits now) I've been on the search for ckn. fr.... More

Thanks for the review on our Chicken Fried Steak. Gravy is a difficult item to prepare consistently, but we are working on this - it's our goal not to have good gravy but to have the best gravy anywhere! Thanks for being a fan of the Bear! More

After a long day hiking the Hoh Rain Forrest trails, we would have eaten anything. But "anything" didn't mean the offerings of the Black Bear Diner. Milkshakes with unrecognizable "chunks" - even the waitress didn't know. Meatloaf with little meat (mostly filler), powdered mashed potatoes and green beans from a can. Asked for apple slices instead of fries with the... More
