Try the Hangtown Fry!

A most delicious breakfast. Strong coffee, and the "Hangtown Fry", full of delicious oysters, bacon and cheese. The service excellent and efficient, beautiful environment. I have been wanting to eat here for years and finally went. I would definitely go back.

We had a fantastic meal at this restaurant inn. The atmosphere was great with a fantastic piano player and very nice wine. The food was superb. We had the razor clams, spinach salad, cauliflower and cioppino. The cioppino was the best we've ever had with great shellfish and nice spicy taste. Try this place. You'll love it.

Our first time at the Shelburne and what a wonderful experience. Lovely, classic dining room . . . Very warm and cozy. We enjoyed the special attention we received from David (the innkeeper) who served as our lead waiter. Very personable and charming. While he left the excellent entrees (crab ravioli; salmon) to the chef, his personal touch was the... More

We had dinner here for Father's Day. The food was OK. They have a strange menu - it was difficult for most of us to figure out what we wanted. The service was inexperienced and wasn't up to par for a place with prices at this level. The server wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu and when people with food... More

Great place to dine, with excellent local choices. The pub has a convivial atmosphere whether dining or dropping in for a drink. Classic in every sense.

We had lunch in the pub and the service was spot on. Food was fabulous, great Wild Salmon Sandwich with fresh greens, Chowder was amazing as was the French Onion Soup. Cam back for breakfast in the restaurant, again perfect service. We had the Forest Mushroom Eggs Benedict which was so delicious. Stop into this historic inn, you will not... More

I have always called this the Heron and Beaver, but it is located in the umbrella of the Shelburne, whose restaurant is upscale and pricey (but worth it). Great beer and wine options at the pub section; a limited menu provides excellent seafood options, soups and salads. I greatly miss some of the best crab cakes I have ever tasted... More

My wife and I had a fabulous dinner at this historic inn. The Beef Wellington with mushrooms was cooked perfectly. Both of our entries had tasty mixed vegetables of cauliflower, snap peas and carrots with a couple of wild flowers on top. The home made breads, especially the Focaccia, were delicious. They have an excellent wine list to choose from.... More

The Pub and Inn is very old and elegant. David, the owner greets you with all his charm and smiles. The menu is selectively small, with 4 or 5 main courses only. But all looked fantastic. The wine selection is vast and can find just about anything tour pallet can want. Prices range from $25,00 and up for your main... More

Last Saturday, we stopped by for lunch after being on part of the Rhodie Tour (a tour of six gardens on the Long Beach Peninsula). It was a nice day so we sat on the patio adjoining the pub. The inside of the pub is in the style of an English establishment with colored glass windows, but the patio overlooks... More
