Old World charm may be found in downtown Renton, Washington at the Whistle Stop Ale House. For over one hundred years people have come to this neighborhood next to the railroad tracks to enjoy a pint among friends. Adding to the rustic charm is the cherry wood back bar which traveled to the Alaskan Gold Rush before finding a home in Renton. Today's brand new Whistle Stop has seventeen rotating taps that feature the finest ales and lagers of the Pacific Northwest and the World. Freshly grilled deli sandwiches are the menu specialty along with soups, salads and appetizers. Swing by for a quick lunch or spend an afternoon, either way the service is always friendly and the beer is always fresh.

Good lunch restaurant

This is a fun restaurant with lots of choices of beer on tap. We have always had excellent sandwiches for lunch.

Great service and friendly people. Average beer pub food but a nice place to kick back. Waitress was especially nice to a female dining alone. Appreciated it.

Basically, fairly basic pub food ... salads, sandwiches, burgers, soup, etc. The server was friendly, however she did mess-up our order. Amongst our group, there was a mix review of the food, a few liked what they ordered and a few were not impressed at all. The establishment was clean with a no-fuss ambiance. The beer selection was decent. The... More

The Handles are always changing …… Fun place to have lunch. We were impressed by the very large selection of Craft beer offered. Our sandwiches were delicious. The carved historic wood bar is beautiful and the patrons & wait staff are super friendly

I was really excited when Whistle Stop expanded the breakfast hours. The food has always been tasty and they had great mango margaritas. Good friends had a baby yesterday and we went to meet the little guy. We stopped at Whistle Stop on the way home to celebrate. Terrible idea. 1. Both doors were open so it was freezing AND... More

This place has a nice vibe about it as you walk in. They have a full bar on one side and restaurant seating surrounding it. Joined a friend for lunch and had the bacon burger with a salad. The burger was fantastic, the raspberry vinaigrette also awesome on the salad. The waitress that day was also very awesome. That sticks... More

Friday night drive-by. Had a typical hamburger and local beer. Susie had a gluten free chicken sandwich. Both were good. Kinda noisy, but the service was great!

I have been to the Whistle Stop a few times for drink only - I have never had food there until the other night. Boy was I disappointed! I split an order of "nachos" with a fried - add sour cream, $0.50 (seriously?!?! what cheapsakes can't give you sour cream with your nachos!). Add chicken, $2.99. A friend also got... More

Recently the Whistle Stop opened for breakfast. As far as I know, they had not been open for breakfast before. We eat here regularly since about 8 years ago they stayed open for several of us who were stuck in downtown Renton in an extremely rare heavy snow storm. Who could forget that? We've been back a couple of times... More

Good food at a reasonable price but unfortunately did not have Blue Moon so I did not drink anything but lemonade. All in all I would recommend the Whistle Stop Ale House to anyone wanting good food without breaking the bank.
