Disappointing Dining

We used to love coming and gorging ourselves, because they used to have the BEST Almond Chicken with a light creamy sauce and mile high Chow Mein. But since Tony is no longer owner, the food and portions are very disappointing! We will have to try another Chinese Restaurant, because we won't be... read more

First, service was average. But the food, yuck. Cream cheese wontons tasted spoiled. Had almond chicken and sweet and sour pork, both covered in thick black sauces. Chow mien had NO flavor at all, their version of fried rice was just white rice with a bit of egg cooked in it. Seriously the food here was not in the least... More

First of all, I'm not Chinese, but I love Chinese food and we often try Chinese restaurants, but this restaurant was the worst ever. Here's why. The food was just ok, nothing special, nothing that would prompt us to go back there. If it was only for food, I would've gave it a 3 star. But here's my worst experience... More

What i missed. The restaurant was very busy and the service was very good. But the combo plate I ordered was not enjoyable. Both entrees used the same breaded, overcooked, tough, deep fried chicken covered in non inspiring sauces. I noticed others in the restaraunt ordered entrees which looked much more appealing. The service was prompt and staff very friendly.

We always enjoy dining at The Emerald. The food arrives quickly, piping hot, and can be customized to your tastes. Portions are generous. The menu is primarily Asian food, but other items are also available. Diners usually include both Asian and non-Asian customers. We especially like their sweet and sour items.

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have been to in all of my travels. Very friendly staff and very clean, quiet establishment. Food is perfect. Our wedding party dined here with excellent reviews from everyone in attendance.

When I crave Chinese food it is their food that I crave. Their prices are extremely reasonable, the service is good, the decor is a bit dated yet clean and pleasant, very open and bright. The food is excellent. They make the very best hot and sour soup I have had anywhere.

I grew up in Pullman and am 30 now. I have yet to find a restaurant that even compares to The Emerald. I live in Texas now and often joke to my sister who lives in Pullman that I will pay her to send me some Emerald with some dry ice in exchange for the awesome fajita meat we have... More

We had Kung Pao Vegetables, Hot and Sour Soup and Green Bean Chicken. The veges were not overcooked and sauces were tasty. Serving sizes are huge --- we fed four people and still boxed some take-home. Atmosphere is utilitarian. I've been eating here for six years, and expect to return. Nothing fancy --- just good food.

I've had a lot of generic chinese food, but this was the worst. We ordered two combination plates with fried prawns and some sort of chicken dish. Both came drenched in some sauce that looked like gravy. The fried rice had what appeared chopped deli meat on top. Not good and especially disappointing for the price. Service wasn't fantastic either.... More
