A Real Bakery

We loved this little bakery. They had a wide variety of yummy treats. We didn't get a chance to try the Poulsbo Bread but we will in the future. Our doughnut men were excellent and so cute!

The only person who wouldn't love this place is the sugar hater. This place really has everything to make you drool with wonderful pastries baked everyday gleaming in the window, to happy workers hopping quick behind the counter to put them in a bag or box to quickly deliver them to your gullet. Don't expect a quick in and out,... More

This bakery is famous for it's Poulsbo Bread and all the Norweigan delights. Sluys also provides the typical bakery delights that are baked fresh every morning. This is a must do while visiting the Kitsap County area......you will not be dissapointed!!!

Can't miss this place. My husband loves it and he who never deviates from the shortest way ever will go way out of our way just to get to the best bakery on the planet. We never miss it on any of our trips around the olympic peninsula. Viking donuts and troll cookies rule!

When I need a bakery "fix" I make a trip to Sluys. As soon as I walk in the door, I think I know what I want but then I am so overwhelmed by the variety of not only the pastries & donuts, but the bread. My favorite is the apple fritters, but I have never been disappointed by anything... More

It's only been six years and everything LOOKS the same which accounts for the pre-lunch selection of: 2 cupcakes 2 gingerbread men 1 'Viking' chocolate frosted doughnut (albeit smaller than before) 1 cinnamon sugar doughnut 2 cellophane packaged frosted Smiley cookies Only the gingerbread men were worth masticating. It was very strange that the doughnuts tasted like the cupcakes and... More

Sluys has been an anchor in downtown Poulsbo since the 1960s. It is a good basic bakery. They have a variety of cookies, some very large donuts and several breads. There is nothing fancy here. If you want a petite four, forget it. No French delicacies will be found here. The bakery is full of customers every time I have... More

Sluys specializes in baked treats of all kinds, most of them drawing oohs and aahhs from the hundreds of tourists that make a beeline there during their visits to Poulsbo. While they make great breads of all kinds, the real stars are the sweets, particularly the cinnamon cups filled with a thick pool of frosting. If it's a sweet baked... More
