The pictures of the Doughboy Donuts do not do them justice. They are huge! We opted to try some other more unique items including the pecan roll. It was full of pecans and not overly sweet. The Russian tea cakes were also good. It was hard to pick just a few items to try since everything looked good.

This is nice little place in Poolesville. During the week of my visit, I would go up the hill to the Poulsbohemian Café, get a coffee, and go down and get a pastry, and sit by the water and enjoy.

In the heart of Poulsbo, the Sluy's bakery has been a mainstay for decades. Friendly and efficient staff serve baked goods sure to satisfy, even thrill! I love watching the kids eye the glass cases loaded with goodies. This bakery is well worth the stop, if even to gawk. There are no tables or menus. The bakery is classic take-out.

Great bakery in a wonderful atmosphere. Wish we would've had time to try more of the wonderful items.

Thanks to information from previous travelers we knew to look for this bakery in downtown Poulsbo. We stayed 4 nights in Poulsbo and every morning we were at the bakery trying a new pastry. Opens at 4:30 a.m. so you can pick up pastries before you hit the road. Wonderful staff, food beautifully displayed, and delicious doesn't adequately describe the... More

The baked goods were so delicious we bought a $ 20 assortment for breakfast the next day. The date macaroons were amazing, as was the rest of the assortment. By all means, stop here.

We visited this bakery during our stop with the Kitsap Tours. It was very busy, but the service was still polite and patient as we tried to decide on the various pastries displayed before us. My friend tried the Viking Cup, something like an upside down pecan/cinnamon roll filled with cream cheese icing. Unfortunately, she didn't think the icing was... More

I live in Poulsbo and this bakery is my downfall. Just driving by makes you salivate. Super authentic family owned bakery.

It's good that we can review this Bakery...'cause it's simply that good! I'm a foodie, and I'll tell you this isn't one of those fancy bakeries that features gorgeous, no-taste pastries. This is the real deal from bread to pastries to cookies...or anything else that should come from a bakery. For locals, it's a really special place where you can... More

Tell the chain doughnut shops to take a hike. Sluys' stuff is never more than 8 hours old and the shelves will empty quickly every morning.
