We strive to support local businesses and heard positive reviews about Jak's Cafe from a number of locals. So today we gave it a try - we like little hole in the wall places like that. I'm giving it 3 stars because the server was very friendly and efficient. My husband had the lunch special Chicken Alfredo - priced under... More

We went here for lunch on a weekend -- just driving around, saw it and decided to give it a try. The place is small, family run, and the service was very personal. The soup is made fresh every day (had tomato and it was very good) and the sandwiches are custom made to order. Healthy stuff. I'm looking forward... More

After reading others reviews, I'm very surprised. We recently relocated to the area and wanted to try something in downtown. This place was fabulous!! From the moment we walked in, we were treated like family. The staff was super friendly. Great service! And the food was delicious. Not to mention, the soup and cookies are made from scratch. And there... More

My husband and I arrived mid-morning and only the owner was there, taking orders, cooking & serving. Several people arrived at the same time and a group of six about 20 minutes after we got there. We placed our order and waited and waited and waited. I will say my latte was lovely, but after that it was downhill. We... More

Very good sandwiches, lots of variety on the menu. Good quality ingredients, lovely owner. Like that they showcase local art.

First time customer at Jak's the third Saturday in Sept. We arrived about 10 minutes after they opened and waited to order. We requested the "Look for our Homemade Biscuits & Gravy or Fresh Fruit Crepes on the first and third Saturdays of each month"! We were told they only have that on the first Sat. of the month which... More

Good home made food. Plenty of outdoor area to sit with sun umbrellas available. Good coffee and deserts and lots of good sandwiches to choose from.

Excellent place out of the mainstream of downtown. The owner is very kind and looks forward to meeting your needs. Always fresh soups and sandwiches. Yummy!

It's a little expensive but well worth it. The coffee is awesome, their food is really good and no preservatives. We stop in at least once or twice every time we come home to visit. They even delivered to Martha and Mary when I had a relative in rehab.

I had the baked omelette which was quite delicious. Julie Ann was very willing to accommodate all substitutions. Per the story on the back of the menu, Julie Ann grew up on a farm and tries to share all of those farm fresh qualities with her patrons. She's running the show so it took a little longer than most other... More
