One of the best in Port Townsend

Alchemy Bistro is one of the best places in town. The bar is lovely, the drinks good, and the natives are friendly. Meals can also be served in the bar. Got a tip on this restaurant from a passenger on the ferry. Glad we went. The selection was unexpected...dishes we had experienced in France and Spain. Settled on the Paella and Salmon. Both were wonderful. The ingredients was first rate and fresh. The flavors were stunning...just what we wanted. And a dish of calamata olives as an appetizer was a... More

Our expectations were exceeded by this restaurant. It is in a vintage building in Pt. Townsend and though we had heard that the food was good, we thought it would be average for a tourist area of town. It was delicious. We split a salad and one of us had the paella, the other the filet. The paella had an... More

We walked in with no res and headed to the bar for martini's and manhatten's. Bar serving was almost double and the food was FANTASTIC. We got the cheese plate and I think it was called the "trio" which was 4 delicious, perfectly cooked, moist skewers, 2 beef, 2 lamp on top of yummy rice with sauces on each meat.... More

Worth visiting for the appetizers. The waitstaff seem well meaning but not very competent: they made no effort to clean up the past visitors' crumbs. The interior design isn't much of a success either, the cushions seem out of place with the wooden bench and the whole thing has a sort of design quality you might relate to one of... More

While this restaurant was well-reviewed, our dinner was average or less. Prices seemed high for what it was, and the food just wasn't especially good. Nice atmosphere, and very centrally located, but I wouldn't make another stop there.

The hosts at the Ravenscroft Inn recommended the Alchemy and it was terrific! Service was excellent and the food was very, very good.

The title says it all. We had some great food for lunch but the soup stole the show. My wife is a bit of an onion soup aficionado and we says

We love this place. Our second time here. It's worth the trip just for the complimentary house olives! We've enjoyed the cassoulet (though missed the classic breadcrumb topping), the succulent lamb shank, the house ravioli, fresh and interesting salads (like frisée with hazelnut coated goat cheese balls), and carne a la parrilla. Warning: we tried to order dessert but both... More
