I had dinner with a friend at the Alchemy Bistro the other night. I ordered their lamb shank. It's a dish that I typically usually enjoy. This one did not fulfill my expectations. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it, and the portion was incredibly large. However, the spices and flavors were just a little off for me. If I... More

Enjoyed a wine flight and appetizers in their bar. It was a nice end to the day before dinner. Could talk and relax. Glad we stumbled across it!

We decided to try out Alchemy when we found it was just a couple blocks from our hotel in P.T. It's a very quiet, yet cool atmosphere. The decor is french-style with interesting paintings (some for sale) on the walls. The menu also tends towards the french. I had the meat skewers for an appetizer - two lamb and two... More

Like others who have written reviews for this restaurant, the menu is what caught my attention. Many wonderful and unique options. I made reservations days in advance. Unfortunately, our actual dining experiences was disappointing. My wife and I are in our mid-50's. The hostess sat us at a table right next to a family with several "active" young children. We... I originally booked Alchemy for their incredible menu for my New Year''s Eve stay in Port Townsend. I was to order the cheese plate and charcuterie to take back to the room for midnight snacks. Charcuterie is homemade mousse and pate. Unfortunately Alchemy had a 4 course meal for New Year's Eve. 4 course meal for me is a bit... More

Hubby had the duck (delicious) and I had the salmon (very fresh but a little overcooked). Service was very good. Nice ambiance. Enjoyable meal.

We were in PT a few weeks ago for a belated anniversary celebration. We stayed at a B&B on top of the hillclimb and walked down to the middle of the cute little town. After a very enjoyable movie at the historic Rose Theater we walked the few easy steps over to Alchemy Bistro. The ambience is funky VIctorian fun,... More

Went here for my birthday. It is nicely appointed, and a bit more upscale than you typically find in town. There was a musician playing a guitar and it was nice - not so loud that we couldn't have a conversation. They serve cocktails, wine and beer and my cosmo was delicious. My sister had an unusual cocktail which she... More

This restaurant seems to be well thought of in the community but we were disappointed. Ate here on a Monday night in October. The restaurant was not crowded, but they immediately wanted to seat us at the smallest and most uncomfortable table. We declined and asked to be seated in a more comfortable spot which they did. We found the... More

We also dined there on Thanksgiving and had a different experience. Our salad was good, our shrimp appetizer was over cooked. As soon as we finished our appetizers our Entrees appeared. Unfortunately they had been sitting for quite a while as they were slightly warm at best. We had the pumpkin pie which was good and what we were told... More
