Alchemy Bistro and Wine Bar is a quiet place with white tablecloths and a perfect atmosphere for date night. They have a lovely and extensive wine selection, and I'm always trying something new . We like the paella, the cioppino, and the cassoulet, though we haven't had a bad meal when we order other items. They often have interesting seasonal... More

I recently was in Port Townsend and had the opportunity to eat at Alchemy. There were several appealing options on the menu, but ultimately I decided to go with the Lamb Shank. I couldn't have been happier with my choice as the lamb was tasty and cooked to perfection and the flight of three wines I had before and with... More

My wife Adriana and I stopped for lunch on a March weekend that started out rainy and then blessed us with sunshine. A clerk in a local store suggested we try Alchemy, telling us it was one of her favorite places. Located just a block off Washington Street next to a little pocket park and fountain, Alchemy is an attractive... More

While being touristy in Port Townsend, my family (30s-60s) and I decided to stop in for lunch. The restaurant was cutely decorated, despite a few really worn decor pieces--like the large screen next to our table with holes in it. The food and wine were delicious. The server was also very nice and helpful. The whole setting, a leisurely lunch... More

we walked around town until we found the perfect restaurant right across from our hotel. we loved it so much the first night we made reservations for the next night! it was my "big special birthday dinner" (turning 40!) and Alchemy treated us so well and the food was ridiculously good. Amazing drinks and of course a great wine selection.... More

I live in Port Townsend and keep Alchemy on my list of places to go for lunch or dinner. Rhonda, the hostess/waitress, is superlative. She sets a lovely, elegant tone for the experience. Just going to the wine bar is fun and something I do with a girlfriend wen we want to treat ourselves. The salad nicoise? The time I... More

As it turns out, we changed how we serve the tuna on our salad nicoise about 3 months ago. Please come back and try it. We still use only the Cape Cleare tuna which we have found to be the best around as well as from our local fisherman and instead of searing it and serving it cold which is... More

The atmosphere in this restaurant is calm, quiet, and easy on the nerves. The tables each feel as though one is in a semi-private room. The service is simply excellent. One of our party did not like the wine she ordered so the waitress brought a new bottle for her to try. When that didn't satisfy her expectations, the waitress... More

We went to Port Townsend for a change of scenery, hoping to have dinner at Sweet Laurette's (having had an excellent breakfast there previously), but found they were closed Sunday evenings. Trip Advisor to the rescue! Alchemy was a delight! A charmingly eclectic mix of chairs and tables and nice lighting. We shared angels on horseback - perfectly cooked: prosciutto... More

Started with a great beet salad. I had the tenderloin, my wife the king salmon...both were moist & tender, well-prepared and included great sauces. The menu had a terrific euro-selection of mainstream dishes with minor twists. Server was very knowledgeable. Very reasonable prices for the experience we had.

This cozy reataurant and bar on the main street of Port Townsend, WA has a fabulous menu! Every night they make up homemade ravioli as a special that is quite delicious.
