Always good food that is reasonably price. Every item I've selected from the menu has been good. Plenty to take home.

Arrived in Port Townsend after being in Port Angeles for the Dungess Crab fest , we had a big day on the road and visiting the sights in Port Angeles we were ready for a break from seafood. After looking through the available information on local restaurants we picked El Sarape. What an unexpected little gem in this area. After... More

El Sarape expertly delivers what Mexican restaurants do best. They have extravagant, "in-your-face" decor , an extensive menu, large, plate filling portions -all at budget friendly prices that allow at lot of people to eat and drink lavishly at a reasonable cost. Right on Main St. We loved it!

After a long day of touring the park, we just chanced it, and the food was great, staff was friendly. Looks like a family run operation with standard Mexican fare, but the food is fresh and nicely prepared. Beware the portions are big. We ordered 1/2 Nachos for an appetizer and it would have been enough for a whole dinner.... More

I have eaten here on occasion for the last ten years. This is a clean, family run business that makes the best nachos ever. Try the Nachos el Sarape. A half order is a nice lunch for one. They are out of this world.

We enjoyed the Mexican food we had El Sarape. It was fresh, good and in large enough quanities to satisfy our hunger after a day of driving. We all had enchiladas-beef, seafood, spinach-cheese and chicken and we really liked them all. I would recommend stopping off at El Sarape if you are visiting Port Townsend, WA.

We parked in Port Townsend and my wife like the smell emanating from this restaurant. After walking around we found ourselves back here for lunch. Service was excellent, the chips and salsa were above average and we sat at a window table and people watched. My wife had a taco salad and margarita. I enjoyed the seafood burrito which had... More

Naturally on a beautiful summer's day the patio/balcony seafood places are going to be full, so we "settled" for something fast and filling. Shockingly, this was amazingly good Mexican food and the Sangria was sweet, refreshing and strong! Glad we stumbled upon this little gem.

The place has been there forever, on Water Street, so easy to get to. The portions are big, the service is always friendly. We have never had a crowded, slow service ever, and the waiter is always attentive and quick. We like to sit by the stained glass, if that is available. Lot's of warm chips and salsa...what's not to... More
