Reliable Not Terribly Exciting but Good Atmosphere

I go in there once in a while and have lunch or dinner and the staff is always super kind and professional. Very relaxed place and not too spendy, worth it for the people.

Had dinner here my first trip to Port Townsend. The service was very friendly and attentive. I sat at one of the front window tables, which made for an interesting street scene as I ate, especially with the Steampunk convention in town! The Cadillac margarita was one of the best I've ever had, perfectly mixed. I'm only an occasional drinker,... More

We stopped at this restaurant and it was a very pleasant surprise. The food was very fresh and tasty and the waiters were excellent. The outside does not look that inviting, but once inside ... you can tell why it is a local favorite.

I had the combo with an enchilada and tamale- tasty and fairly priced. They have excellent chips and salsa, great customer service, fast, and consistent!

Stopped in on a whim. We didn't check out reviews or ask around first. The great news is we made the right choice. Located in a heritage building it has a charming atmosphere. They decor is nice without going over the top. The exposed brick walls were what did it for me. The menu is large but I am sure... More

Always good food that is reasonably price. Every item I've selected from the menu has been good. Plenty to take home.

Arrived in Port Townsend after being in Port Angeles for the Dungess Crab fest , we had a big day on the road and visiting the sights in Port Angeles we were ready for a break from seafood. After looking through the available information on local restaurants we picked El Sarape. What an unexpected little gem in this area. After... More

El Sarape expertly delivers what Mexican restaurants do best. They have extravagant, "in-your-face" decor , an extensive menu, large, plate filling portions -all at budget friendly prices that allow at lot of people to eat and drink lavishly at a reasonable cost. Right on Main St. We loved it!

After a long day of touring the park, we just chanced it, and the food was great, staff was friendly. Looks like a family run operation with standard Mexican fare, but the food is fresh and nicely prepared. Beware the portions are big. We ordered 1/2 Nachos for an appetizer and it would have been enough for a whole dinner.... More

I have eaten here on occasion for the last ten years. This is a clean, family run business that makes the best nachos ever. Try the Nachos el Sarape. A half order is a nice lunch for one. They are out of this world.
