Best Mexican food in Washington

Our friends from Seattle took us here as they said it was the best in the state...we'd eaten at another in Edmonds, and this far surpassed it. The carne asada and shrimp plate was fabulous. The Margaritas were also good, and the decor is lively with paintings. The wait staff is very friendly and... read more

My family loves Mexican food, so this looked like a good option. Chips and salsa were tasty, and my husband liked his burrito, but everything was drenched in sauce and pretty mushy and flavorless. The staff were attentive and the prices were comparable to other restaurants, but I would have preferred fresher choices where the flavors could be tasted.

This is a great little Mexican food restaurant. I was there for a late lunch mid-week and the service was excellent. The food was great and served fairly quickly. They have a nice selection of beers, but it is also family friendly. It is in the heart of downtown near the action and fun of the town.

The service was okay. The food was nice: my husband had fajitas, I ate a bean burrito (which was gigantic but very yummy). The decoration is cool and really funny.

The food was good, and the staff was very friendly. Port Townsend isn't where I would think of for Mexican food, but it sounded good, and the reviews were good.

Great salsa, loved my chicken enchilada. Service was great too. Cold beer. Near the water in Port Townsend. Would definitely come back here next time we are close by.

After a rough day on the water making our way across to Port Townsend, we were hungry after tying up to the dock. Our meal at El Sarape did not disappoint! We started with a carafe of fruit studded sangria, very nicely prepared. But the real star of the meal was the Chili Colorado Burrito. The chunks of pork in... More

Decided to go there for lunch since the reviews were good. The service was the best we have experienced. The lady was very professional, clean, neat, and friendly. The food was good. We had the lunch taco salad and 1/2 plate of nachos. Lots of shredded chicken in the taco salad and the shredded beef in the nachos was very... More

Family oriented; unpretentious; nice change from more heavily promoted "touristy" waterfront restaurants; prompt service; customer focused; varied menu; large portions; good value.
