A taste of Italy in Port Townsend

Living on the other side of Admiralty Inlet from Port Townsend (Coupeville) I have been starved for good Italian dining. Living on the other side of Admiralty Inlet from Port Townsend (Coupeville) I have been starved for good Italian dining. There is great pizza on Whidbey Island (see my review of Ciao) and very nice Americanized Italian (Christophers) both in Coupeville, but in my opinion no really authentic Italian (food and atmosphere). Surprisingly I found it in Upper Port Townsend.... More

Pollo Bolognese was to die for! Perfectly tender chicken, with the best cream sauce, my mouth is still watering! Very generous portion that we easily shared, keeping our bill reasonable. Atmosphere was quaint and comfortable and the service was very friendly and attentive. Great place, will be back!

What can I say that I haven't said before about Lanzas? I was really set to try one of the Valentines Day specials but when I opened my mouth "Pollo Bolognese" came out. My brain obviously took over and decided I would order my #1 favorite (#2 by the way is Mi Patrona). First bite brought a smile to my... More

This place was so highly recommended by people we know in the area, so we were really surprised at how hpoor our experience was. To begin with, I wish that places that are considered 'better quality' would not have an atmosphere of snobbishness, but would instead cultivate a happy attitude towards customers. The food was ok. We ordered the steak... More

This restaurant has a great ambience. It's been around forever. I think it's a place where a lot of locals go. As a visitor, I was seduced by the description of a dish on the menu. It sounded fabulous, and I ordered it even though it had a cream sauce and I don't usually order dishes with cream sauce. And... More

This is how Italian food should taste. Ate here on a Thursday night with my husband. Comfortable seating with excellent ambiance, great service, and yes, try the desserts. Reasonably priced.

Celebrating our 35th anniversary, we were pleased to get a reservation to finner. (Note: reservations are by phone only, day of only, and taken beginning a 3pm only). This was our second visit and we loved it again. Decor, lighting, service and, food made our evening. Unfortunately, American patrons are too loud in intimate restaurants such as this and we... My husband and I have eaten at Lanza's literally dozens of times by now. We can count on the food to always be served cooked to order, fresh and clean-tasting, and served with a big smile. The items I've tried include my favorite, chicken piccata, plated with generous portions of fork-tender, juicy chicken breast and a lively lemon-caper sauce that... More

First time I ate here I swore I would never go back, but foolishly I did and it was no better. This restaurant is the epitome of America's misconception of what an Italian restaurant should be like. Plates of pasta swimming in far too much sauce, most of it of the thin, sweet tomato variety. Dress it all up in... More

I must defend this review. It seems like you sat down on your computer and wrote the bulk of your reviews. You visited our restaurant in March, and now we are getting this in October? Each dish is made to order and if I could guess, the only thin sweet sauce is our chicken marsala. Most dishes made with the... More

This is one of the prettiest and most charming rooms in the local restaurant scene -- and that is saying something in this region of "foodie" heaven. The decor and lighting are romantic and intimate, and the menu, though limited, offers most of the classics. My husband and I shared two nice pastas and salads and enjoyed our dinner before... More
