Nice lunch

This place is not large, but it served a steady stream of lunchs during the time we were there. I will note that a family with children aged 6ish-13 came in to check out the menu & left as the menu was too eclectic for the kids, & possibly some adults who prefer the same old, same old. I really... read more

The Fountain is my favorite place in Port Townsend. It is a bit of funk - but in a good way, a consistently great meal...and typically excellent service. I love the wine list, too, because Nick always has a great Chardonnay!!

What make a dinner out a genuine local experience? I'd say intimacy, friendliness, locally source ingredients creatively used. You can get all of that at The Fountain. We been here a few times before and enjoyed. A friend from out-of-town was taking us out and it seems like we need to go to place that wasn't pretentious with good food.... More

Went here as part of couple's getaway. We walked in just before closing, but the staff did not make us feel rushed at all. The food was great and it was clear that the owner (who was also the server) takes pride in the overall customer experience. She was very courteous and was great at giving us just the right... More

Small but cozy venue. We did make reservations, not knowing if a Saturday night in January would be crowded or not and we are glad we did. The place was packed ! The caprese type appetizer was beautiful and VERY tasty. I ordered a chicken special which was similar to a Coq au vin dish and it was fantastic. My... More

Went to restaurant for lunch based on a recommendation. Upon entering atmosphere was nothing special and the server seemed in no hurry to clean dirty tables. Headed for the restroom to wash up, and had to wait a moment, until one of the food preparers exited the bathroom ahead of me. The bathroom had the heavy disgusting smell of a... More

Relaxed, comfortable atmosphere, wonderful selection of food. My seafood entrée was generous and fresh. Waitress was personable and we had a wonderful visit. I love a restaurant that allows you to linger without the pressure to move on. Visiting from out of town, I will return.

The Fountain has always been one of our favorites in PT, and this past week, our visitors from Seattle agreed that it is one of the best. We each ordered a different entree, including two from the specials board. My salmon was so sumptuous that I nearly licked the plate. The small venue can be intimidating, but waiting for a... More

We were referred to this by the winery in PT. We enjoyed a really nice dinner with interesting choices on the menu. A small place with about 10 tables so go early. Were told that a lot of locals frequent this and it isn't on the main street. We are real glad we went on a cool night and would... More

The Fountain Cafe is definitely worth a visit if you are in Port Townsend. The somewhat Italian-influenced menu has a good variety of offerings, and in our group of five, there wasn't one dish we didn't all love. The mussels and clams appetizer is delicious, fragrant and savoury. All our main courses were some type of pasta, each as tasty... More
