Off season visit, nice & cozy

Came to town for business, ate twice at The Belmont. Both visits were very nice. Good wine, Great food located in what seemed like an old historical building that was re-done. It is off season right now but the restaurant was still busy with Christmas parties. Lobster Bisque was a hit. Menu is... read more

For starters at lunch, we had delicious local Maristone Island oysters on the half shell served with sides of a tangy remoulade, and/or a lemon slice - apply as you wish, and slurp away; also a side of seared scallops, again with a dressing on the side, which is always the preferred method. With these we had a glass of... More

We had a window seat over looking the beautiful Puget Sound Bay. I had the Reuben sandwich and my friend had the fishnchips. We also split a clam chowder and they were kind enough to bring us 2 bowls! Servers were professional and friendly. It was a lovely experience.

The restaurant in the hotel we stayed in doesn't open for dinner on Sundays, so they gave us a gift certificate to eat at the Belmont for the inconvenience. Boy were we impressed. Very nice, clean restaurant that is situated on several levels on the waterfront. It was a quiet Sunday evening so not sure how loud or busy it... More

We stopped for dessert and coffee and it was all good. The building is nice and the staff friendly. Not many people there and it was dinner time. I would go back and try dinner sometime. The atmosphere was not cheery. I had espresso and creme brulee. Very good.

First restaurant we have ever experienced that all the wait staff were attentive to any diners needs, not just their assigned tables! They came from everywhere! Best service ever! Food was good too! Will come back again. Other restaurants should try this.

The clam chowder is outstanding. Real cream! We live in Port Townsend and when we have company we always choose the Belmont for lunch or dinner. The hot crab sandwich is very tasty; made with artichoke hearts and lots of cheese. Never have had a bad meal here.

The reviews place this restaurant as the best in town. If this is the best in town I would skip eating is this town. The prices were as if the place served the freshest catch of the day but in fact the fish was no acceptable. My wife and I had different plates and neither one of us could eat... More

We both ordered seafood. The portions we fancy (i.e. small) but the food was so rich and delicious that we were both stuffed. The vegetables were very fresh and flavorful, the steak cooked just right, and the cream sauce was rich and smooth. You could tell they used the best ingredients. Service was good and we had a nice view... More

I have eaten here before when I have brought guests up to visit Port Townsend. It was fine, not great, but fine and the location is ideal. On Sunday, October 11th at about 5:15 pm, we (six people) thought we would eat here. We were greeted by a pleasant hostess who gave us an additional menu to peruse and then... More
