This is a nice restaurant inside a historic old 1800's saloon. Good service, good food, and a great view of the water if it's warm enough to sit outside on the back deck. I love the lobster bisque and love the sparkling wine by the glass which wasn't overly expensive. My Caesar salad and seafood linguini were also quite good.... More

I'd say this is Port Townsends attempt at fine dining. Located in a historic building, it offers inside and outdoor dining; (but on plastic chairs and tables). It does have a nice water view, and a nice menu selection, but portions are small and I feel a little over-priced. Wait staff is very professional and efficient. I probably wouldn't dine... More

Have only tried this at lunch during the Conversation Cafe. Tried to go for dinner several times and was refused...Various excuses...definitely put us off from trying again in spite of interesting menu. Recommend calling in advance if you want to go to dinner there.

We were in Port Townsend and stayed with friends for a couple of days. We offered to take them out to dinner and they suggested The Belmont in downtown Port Townsend, a restaurant tucked into a hotel building. There were four of us and we were greeted and brought to a nice table by a window. It seems that our... More

We ate at the Belmont, outside on the deck overlooking the water. The waiter had a great personality and helped to make the dining experience fun. I had trout rolls stuffed with crab. It was fabulous--done perfectly and the additional items in the stuffing were well balanced. My husband had a cobb salad and was disappointed. It lacked some of... More

Great view, great meal, great service. Loved the lobster bisque; my steak was well prepared and nicely presented. As to the person who complained about the portions -- personally, I would rather have a six ounce steak (as it's properly identified on the menu) nicely prepared than a big ol' hunk of meat slapped on my plate to impress me,... The wife and I were traveling through Port Townsend from Lake Oswego, Oregon. We went to the Belmont for drinks and dinner. We wanted to start with drinks at the bar, but they made us sit at a table in the dining room. I think the upstairs bar was closed, but since that is where restaurants make their real money,... More

This has always been a "must stop here" place for lunch, appetizers or dinner. The view is beautiful, the ambience lovely, water is brought out immediately and the food...well, here's the rub. The oyster appetizer was delicious. The cod fish n chips: cod delicious, fries were so so. The Baked Dover Sole...not what was advertised on the menu posted outside... More

Dine on the patio if it's warm - it's right smack on the water. The oysters were fresh and flavorful, the artichoke dip one of the best, the salmon like it just splashed out of the water.

We ate on the deck overlooking the water and had a wonderful lunch. I had the Cioppino and my husband had the pasta with salmon. The portions were very large - and both were wonderful. The service was excellent and the view outstanding. I tried the banana boat for dessert and can only tell you that you must try it!!!... More
