Excellent food and lovely location

This is a LOVELY, family owned cafe and bakery. They serve breakfast and lunch or an early dinner. They also serve local wines and beers. The sandwiches are made with home made bread (gluten free if you ask), and all the desserts are home made - and incredible. Everything, EVERYTHING, is made there... read more

We were in Port Townsend to celebrate my birthday. Walked into several other places, looked at the menu, looked around, and walked out. When we walked into this place, all five of us, after looking at the menu, decided this was the place. Friendly service with very tasty food! It was a hot day so we sat inside. The whole... More

Located on a small side street, it is one of those places the locals go. Limited breakfast and lunch menu but with a surprising variety of items. NOT your usual fare. Great selection of fresh baked scones, cookies and pies that are not to be be missed. You won't be sorry for your choice of this family run cafe.

Pleasant staff, lots of outdoor seating. We were there on a Sunday and they were having open mic in the courtyard. Very relaxing. Food was not exceptional but good.

My wife and I make a point of dropping in to eat when we are in town. Over the last 18 years there have been changes but all for the better. Their baked goods are home made and melt in your mouth. When there is someone playing and singing in the background you almost feel like you're back home! Don't... More

My husband and I were looking for a place to have a late lunch in Port Townsend. I had been here before with a friend and since we were parked fairly close, we chose the Courtyard Cafe. It's in a very old house and the restrooms, with unusual decor, are upstairs via some pretty steep stairs. When you first walk... More

We came here for breakfast, were told we could have it by the "maitre'd " and after we were seated were told we could only have lunch. This was because they had people at the Brewfest. After we were there about half an hour, two breakfasts were brought out and consumed by what appeared to be employees, or perhaps friends... More

If you are knowledgeable about what to order, this is a world-class restaurant. BELIEVE IT. In a world gone mad for bacon (bacon candy, bacon ice-cream, liqueurs, etc.), this is the place for the best bacon in the universe, bar none. This is the bacon against which all others are measured and found wanting. And you have never had buttered... More

We visited The Courtyard twice on this visit to PT. Once for an Americano and subsequently for breakfast. The Americano was disappointing as it had no really body. The breakfast scrambled eggs were over cooked and a bit watery. Bacon was excellent and the service enthusiastic. The large coffee percolator produces a good full bodied brew so I'll stick with...
