Hanazono is my most recommended restaurant in Port Townsend. Their food is always superb, the service friendly, and the atmosphere vibrant and fragrant. As a curious eater, I love watching the cooks prepare your meal in their open kitchen. Recently, my favored dish is the Ma Bo Ramen, a special. If you want something lighter they prepare great sushi and... More

My experience is always sitting at the counter and ordering one of their noodle soups, specifically the Vegan Soup. Soups come in two sizes. I get the "small"...but, really?...ah, its a lot to eat. The staff and cooks are Port Townsend funky, but they know their stuff, that is for sure. I head for Hanizono for fast, healthy, delicious and... More

We saw ahi tuna fish tacos advertised and decided to give it a try - a delicious decision. Lunchtime on a sunny Sunday afternoon meant it was busy, but we snagged a two stools and a counter at the window. Great people watching place. The fish tacos were amazing, just the right hit of spice. My husband ordered another plateful!... More

Excellent Tom-Tom Noodle bowl -very spicy -loved it. Also delicious cold noodle salad with tofu and fresh baby spinach and romaine. Only negative: very slow service. But we definitely will go again.

I ordered gyoza, tonkotsu ramen and a large Kirin Ichiban Shibori. The gyoza was probably the best I have had outside Japan and the ramen was delicious. The place itself is so Japanese, the only difference from Japan is the lack of Japanese customers and Japanese employees. If you visit Port Townsend and like Japanese traditional food you must go... Wonderful spring rolls, and excellent noodle dishes....so hard to choose among them. The Thai Basil stir fry special was great, but the stir fry soba noodle with pork and veggies from the regular menu was even better. And each dish was large enough that we had leftovers. High quality food at very reasonable prices. Great find!

It gets busy on a Saturday but the wait is worth it for the food! All freshly made for you. The big udon noodle dishes are the best!

My wife and I consider Hanazono to be our favorite restaurant in Port Townsend. The food is reliably delicious, the sake menu is simply amazing and it's become our default for the question "where should we go for dinner or lunch." I love their Shrimp Rolls and the bowls of noodles are excellent. The large bowls easily make two meals.... More
