Awesome Restaurant, Diamond in the Rough

We ate at Sweet River Bakery the second night. We didn't realize this was a full service restaurant by the name until I gave them a call. We like to eat healthy and they aim to please. It is a very cool & hip restaurant.

We are bicycle touring the northwest. We have eaten in too many bakeries to count. The baked items are really good and the outdoor seating is great with the lake view. Just don't look too closely at the inside of the building in terms of cleanliness. It's been a long time since I've seen the sticky tape used to catch... More

This was recommended by the staff where we were staying. A funky little restaurant with outdoor seating and a stage for musical nights. We both ordered the breakfast sandwich which included eggs, ham and melted cheese on lovely toasted homemade bread. It took awhile for the breakfast to come due to the business of the place, but it was well... More

Nothing fancy just great goodies, didn't stay for lunch but the menu looked very tasty. They have indoor and outside dining.

I got my morning latte there. My son got a yummy bakery item--don't remember what, but he thought it was great--a croissant filled with spicy unusual ingredients.

ALL the food (sandwiches and bakery goods) are wonderful! Everything is made to order on site by local folks. Outside seating area could be better landscaped but still great.

"The Bakery" as it is known to the locals, is actually quite a bit more than that. It does in fact have great fresh baked breads, pastries, cookies, etc... The pleasant surprise is that it has fantastic sandwiches, pizza, soup and more! Alex, Donna and staff are friendly and personable. This was the very first place I ate when I... More

We stopped in for a latte, and I could not pass up the looks of a unique apple turnover. I am almost 60, have loved apple turnovers my whole life, and I do believe that the best I have ever had are these creations in the megatropolis of Pateros, WA.!!! The pastry itself was very flaky and tender, more filling... More

Sweet River is the place to go if you want a fresh, homemade sandwich and bowl of soup. They make their breads and treats daily. After 3:00pm, you can get some amazing pizza, too. They also make lattes and have local wines and beer. Great place to eat and wonderful, friendly service.

Stayed in Pateros for one night, heard the music from the outside venue during the evening and walked down to check it out the next morning. Delighted to find a great, small town bakery with an impressive variety of fresh breads, pastries and coffee. Priced right, served by friendly locals, it's a great way to start the day.
