Good Food

This was our first visit since the Oyster House reopened after the fire. We both had the fried halibut basket. The fish was very good - thick and well fried. The french fries are still mediocre. The slaw was crisp and tasty (they add apples to the cabbage). Service was good.

We had a family group dinner (9 adults) on a quiet week night. The waiter was pleasant and tried his best, but what came out of the kitchen missed the mark by a long shot! One of us had the Filet Mignon which was 1/3 inedible. It had so much gristle that it wouldn't even cut! The Seafood Louie, which... More

Both food and service well below previous standards. Used to eat there often but not after several disappointing meals.

Enjoy the fish and chips the most. All other food items tried have been as good. Great beer selection. Comfortable surroundings and nice views. Summer patio is great. Both wife and I enjoy our frequent visits

The food and service was OK nothing to rave but nothing to complain either. Prices seemed a bit high for the quality and portion. Had looked on line and the menu was a bit different than what was advertised. Would go back, but not going to be first choice.

The restaurant appeared to be a very good restaurant, but we were stuck in a corner and forgot about. Our waiter, Ron, asked if we were ready to order, after having the menu for only a minute or two. We asked for another minute. We then watched another party get seated, served drinks, and had their order taken (same waiter),... More

lunch for 2 at $60.00 is a toin for me we had a salad and a combo platter. The food was good and there was plenty but add a cup of chowder and a beer and your in pretty deep. Add to that the service staff was arguing and slow and you have a good meal at a premium price... More

I want to love the Oyster House- it has many great elements. History, location, delicious oysters... but, like almost everywhere else you go in Olympia you can expect lackluster service. Perhaps coming from other parts of the country to live in Oly, my standards are a bit higher- like expecting someone to bring water and menus within a few minutes... More

Took my daughter for dinner. We waited forever. There was a short woman there yelling at customers and the staff. We ended up not staying-saw enough. Just saying that we were not the only ones leaving. DON'T GO!!!

Nice location with lots of room and tables and booths that can accommodate various sized groups. Reservations taken for groups of 6 or more. Good waitstaff. Noise level a little loud. Parking lot in back. Our waiter was responsive but he didn't seem to know much about wine. They have a small wine list and a few kraft beers, some... More
