Revived Oyster House

Not a mandatory "must visit," when we're in Seattle-Tacoma, but never a disappointment. During an extended weekend visit I was in Shelton with family and made a lunch stop at the Oyster House. Our previous visits were prior to the fire (2013?) and it was great to see not much had changed. For... read more

This restaurant has been an Olympia landmark for years. However, we stopped going because it was noisy, the food wasn't that great and the quality of service was sporadic. It burned down a few years ago, but re-opened last summer. We weren't in a rush to try it again, but we finally did. It looks exactly the same, but it's... More

What a great location for a seafood restaurant. Some of the dishes were a little expensive, but hey it's a seafood restaurant. They also had many things for 10-15 bucks. I got the halibut fish tacos and my date had the halibut and chips, we both were very satisfied. I try to come here every time I am in Olympia,... More

What's to say? The restaurant is right on the water. The staff is courteous and friendly, and the prices are what you'd expect from a house that serves good, local seafood. It was 42° F and cloudy in the evening, so we didn't sit outside on the deck when 5 friends from eastern Washington showed up in town and decided... More

I like the location and the view. Food quality is average and a little bit over priced for my point of view.

This establishment burned down a while ago and now has reopened. I went for lunch and was not disappointed. Both my friend and I enjoyed our food, the wait staff, and the new restaurant. The salad was delicious--there is nothing like crisp lettuce to start the salad off on in the right foot. Fun lunch and would go back

So glad to Oyster House is back up and running! For several years, this has been "the" place my best friend and I meet when I come to town. We, of course, rarely stray from the halibut and chips, which is absolutely PERFECT!! Interesting coleslaw that works and is tasty. Our service was great and we had a nice chat to... More

Went to the Oyster House on the Friday before Christmas, even with all the downtown shoppers stopping for a great evening meal we were seated in less than ten minutes. We got there at about 615PM and the place was busy. Karen was our order taker and she was great, got our drinks to us fast, they did make a... More

The rebuilt space is very nice. The food however was not good. Our clam chowder lacked flavor. The crabcakes were mostly breading. Fish and chips were meager. Caesar salad dry and flavorless. Party of 4 will not be back.
