We won't go back.... The oysters were soggy and served in a basket of chips making those wet too. In the basket it's difficult to use a fork and they were too limp to treat as finger-food. The service was very bad. Even though my martini arrived AFTER my dinner, we did not even get an apology from anyone, just... More

Family celebration on a Monday night. Fish tacos were so-so. Chowder was the best thing we had. It's just nothing special.

Disappointed. Always looked forward to our Oyster House meals, but they have a long way to go since the fire. We sat in the bar, service was terrible. Very inefficient only doing one thing at a time for one table at a time. They used to have the best fish and chips in town--but not anymore. I had the cod...I... More

So looked forward to returning to the old Olympia favorite, the Oyster House, but was sorely disappointed. The place lacks its former character and energy. Is still on the water, but that is about the only positive. Our middle aged waitress looked haggered despite the place not being full. She took an order for 3 of us without writing it... More

I am gluten intolerant, and I am always skeptical about eating out due to fear of cross contamination, or lack of knowledge. However, I figure since this was a seafood restaurant that there had to be naturally gluten free items off thier regular menu. I was right, there were choices of gluten free items, although they do not have a... More

Have had halibut and chips many places-Seattle, Vancouver, the San Juan Islands and yes even dear ole England, no comparison to the delicious ones eaten at the Oyster House. Our friends from England agree! We ( and they) also highly recommend the clam chowder, oysters and pretty much everything else on the menu. Service a friendly and always make you... More

Last year, the Oyster House was destroyed by fire but it is back and is so good! If you want excellent clam chowder or one of the best chef's salads I've ever had, this is the place!

We seriously had oyster house withdrawals for the year they were closed. Glad to have them up and running again. Service was a bit erratic two days after opening, but they get cracking and we'll definitely be back. Food was great, as always.

They do not take reservations. The service was not OK. We arrived at 5PM and the restaurant hadn't started getting busy yet. We ordered an appetizer of steamer clams, which came with a roll and garlic butter (for 2 of us). Without us asking, the server said she would bring a 2nd roll. She didn't explain there would be an... More

Took my uncle here for his 85th birthday and we all had the Halibut fish&chips. They are lightly breaded and were very good. They give you a half pound of chips which was more than enough. The service was excellent and will go here again when we visit Olympia on our next trip.
