Welcome back Oyster House

I have not been here since the fire. Looks about the same. This was the first time I tried oysters. The bartender knew what to recommend. They were yummy. The fish and calamari were also good. The place seemed understaffed since they are located at the end of the parade route for Procession... read more

After their fire, the Oyster House has rebuilt their restaurant pretty much exactly as it was. The food selection is just as good as it was and the service is, maybe, even better!

We were excited to try the Oyster House whilst visiting Olympia. We were seated at a booth overlooking the kitchen and oh my, did we get a eyeful. There were two employees behind the line prepping and serving food and they were not wearing gloves. They were touching raw food and then ready to eat food, tossing a loose fry... More

The Oyster House reopened last August after a disastrous fire. I wanted to give them time to "shake down" their new operation, and 7 months seemed like long enough. My husband and I arrived about 7:40 on a weeknight; the restaurant had a good turnout, but was nowhere near full. We began by ordering a bottle of chardonnay, from 5... More

I should have known better, but we had been walking all day, and we were both famished. Initially, we ordered a dozen intermediately priced oysters on the half shell. We were presented with the highest priced ones, which we returned for the ones that we had ordered. The oysters were brackish, and not very good. Next we ordered cod and... More

The Oyster House is an Olympia staple and after the fire, I wanted to see how the place looked. It was identical, probably for insurance reasons. Having said that, it is a comfortable relaxing place with a nice ambience. On a Friday night, the bar area was packed and I got the last table in the bar. The service, unexpectably,... More

went with husband, son, daughter in law, grandson(infant) for lunch. The staff acted like they had never had an infant there before even tho there were other children of all ages. Food was mediocre and service was slow. Will not return.

Since I was visting Olympia wanted to try things that weren't avaiavailable where I am from.Initial seating was very quick but table service was painfully slow. Waited quite some time before getting water or offering of drinks. Place didn't seem overly busy to have the slow service. Food was decent but waiter forgot some of it and had to ask... More

I like fish to taste like fish. The food was too fancy for my taste. Lovely remodel of the restraint, though. It is noisy, even on a quiet night, as we got there after 8:00 pm. Also,beware- we were ticketed in the adjacent parking lot! Didn't know you had to pay to park, and the sign in the dark is... More

Yes - it has once again risen from the ashes and most of us consider that to be a miracle!! The Oyster House is a wonderful tribute to the geography and biology and gastronomy of the area.
