So looked forward to returning to the old Olympia favorite, the Oyster House, but was sorely disappointed. The place lacks its former character and energy. Is still on the water, but that is about the only positive. Our middle aged waitress looked haggered despite the place not being full. She took an order for 3 of us without writing it... More

I am gluten intolerant, and I am always skeptical about eating out due to fear of cross contamination, or lack of knowledge. However, I figure since this was a seafood restaurant that there had to be naturally gluten free items off thier regular menu. I was right, there were choices of gluten free items, although they do not have a... More

Have had halibut and chips many places-Seattle, Vancouver, the San Juan Islands and yes even dear ole England, no comparison to the delicious ones eaten at the Oyster House. Our friends from England agree! We ( and they) also highly recommend the clam chowder, oysters and pretty much everything else on the menu. Service a friendly and always make you... More

Last year, the Oyster House was destroyed by fire but it is back and is so good! If you want excellent clam chowder or one of the best chef's salads I've ever had, this is the place!

We seriously had oyster house withdrawals for the year they were closed. Glad to have them up and running again. Service was a bit erratic two days after opening, but they get cracking and we'll definitely be back. Food was great, as always.

They do not take reservations. The service was not OK. We arrived at 5PM and the restaurant hadn't started getting busy yet. We ordered an appetizer of steamer clams, which came with a roll and garlic butter (for 2 of us). Without us asking, the server said she would bring a 2nd roll. She didn't explain there would be an... More

Took my uncle here for his 85th birthday and we all had the Halibut fish&chips. They are lightly breaded and were very good. They give you a half pound of chips which was more than enough. The service was excellent and will go here again when we visit Olympia on our next trip.

Went to a luncheon with fourteen others and everybody in our group raved about not only the food but the service as well. They did a bang-up job of reconstructing the old Oyster House and it's a wonderful experience being able to go back down to the waterfront and enjoy a delicious meal. We all had different items with nary... More

The Oyster house continues to serve good food with great service and nice folks. The portions are large and delicious. Our server was great, very nice and prompt with all our orders. Glad the restaurant is once again part of our wonderful waterfront views and downtown area. Try them they are open once again. They're the best!

On the deck of the Oyster House - beautiful crisp, sunny Pacific Northwest September weather with boats in the marina rocking gently in the water. Excellent service by staff. Fresh halibut used in fish and chips (check on this - halibut, as with most fisheries has it's own season) and delicious pan fried oysters that are just right and not... More
