Bustling, that's the best word to describe any lunch time at the 5th Ave. Friendly staff, including a certain wait person called Holly - she introduces herself, and is a veritable fountain of good spirits. I would guess some people go there just to have Holly lift their spirits a little.

When my mother comes to town for lunch, this is the place we normally choose. Why try something new when you know you are going to get a great meal at the 5th Avenue Sandwich Shop. Today I had the Hot Oly sandwich and a bowl of soup, perfect for a cold day. My mom had a half turkey and... More

we picked up a sandwich from here to eat later. There was a good choice of fillings and bread and everything seemed very fresh. They were made up to order which is always nice. The sandwiches were huge. In fact we both ate only half that day and saved the other half for the next day......

The setting is simple. Small tables, friendly but busy servers and a decent menu. The bread is fresh daily and tasty. The egg salad and Rueben sandwiches were perfect. The four cheese sandwich was a great complement to the chicken noodle soup on a rainy day. Pies are fresh baked and don't seem to last long. If passing through and... More

2 adults and a teenager. All very happy. My mushroom swiss burger was perfect, with thousand island dressing, and ample amounts of fries. It was really tasty on a home made bun. My wife's triple decker was so filling she could not finish it and the teenager's roast beef with au jus was more than enough for a growing boy.... More

We were lucky enough to get here right before the lunch rush without another person in the place. Within minutes every single table was full! There were 6 of including 2 children. The waitress let us know the sandwiches are huge so my son and I split one and still couldn't finish it! No one else at the table finished... More

A friend and I ate there recently. We have for kids under five between us. My 22 month old was not a happy camper that day. What can you do though when you are an hour from home with your little ones and hungry? Taking them home and not feeding them is not an option. I took my preschooler to... More

If I lived in Olympia, I would buy this bread regularly! It is so fresh and soft. It was awesome!! My husband got his dessert first bc he couldn't resist the apple pie in the case. It was gone before we even knew what happened. I had the turkey cranberry and it was scrumptious! My husband had the French dip... More

Ate her twice in one week, it's that good. Best tuna sandwich I have ever eaten besides at home. The staff is wonderful, very friendly and attentive. I have also had the chicken salad and it is very good. I highly recommend this place.

Had the Reuben - it was absolutely delicious. Soups and other offerings were very good. Wonderful location for strolling through funky but very accessible neighborhood. Olympia is a perfect stop for lunch on the way to Olympic National Park from SeaTac or Portland.
