Our family doesn't get up to our State Capitol often but when we do, King Solomon's Reef is the funky soul food eatery we all choose. The food is superb! From the Corned Beef Hash to the Breakfast Burritos. From a delightful Denver to a plate heaped with Chicken & Waffles. This place has got it down when it comes... More

So I was hanging out in my favorite city .......olympia.....and wanted a good breakfast. The wonderful aroma that was coming from king Solomon called to me!!!! I went in and ordered some eggs and hash. It was unbelievable. I was expecting the typical hash that looks like it came from a can.... Nope not this stuff. It was petite chunks... More

My wife and I went to the Reef for the first time on 12/19/13, when we needed a late-afternoon bite to eat before catching a bus to the train station. (We might have gone to Darby's, but we had no interest in waiting 45 minutes for service.) My wife had the tomato soup (with fresh basil and parmesan), and I... More

We were so happy to see that the Reef reopened. Serving Artesian water, a great burger and fresh salad with fresh gf and regular pie ala mode! Trying NOT to go every week for dessert is our challenge. Servers are pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable. Plenty of seats for a group, but we like to sit at the counter and watch... More

We went to visit my cousin who is a university student. He took us to this location. I would have never chosen this location for a family with young children but I am glad I was wrong. The food was great and something to offer for anyone. The atmosphere is artsy and appealing to students. Great value. Delicious home style... More

Have had the pleasure of dining at KS Reef five or six times over the past year and each time enjoyed the food and the service. This is diner fare to the max! Fried, grilled, gravied, and piled high! Service has been wonderful, although we had the same server each time we visited, she always remembers us on our return!... More

It's located in a funky, groovy sort of downtown--a bit much for older folks like us, but it was a great dinner, with a fun, younger atmosphere. We had the Noah's Ark (ham/turkey/roast beef sandwich with waffle bun) and chicken and waffles, and enjoyed our food quite a bit.

We had a totally yummy lunch at the Reef, mainly because the other place we were hoping to try was very crowded. What a beautiful surprise! Finding a place that makes me and my non-vegan hubby happy is a treat. I had the tempeh buffalo sandwich with a side of vegan chili just to try it. The waitress was super-friendly,... More

We arrived in Olympia after 11pm and the front desk person at Phoenix Inn Suites recommended King Solomon's Reef. The diner looked a bit sketchy, but we ventured in. The two female servers were upbeat, friendly and helpful. We were served quality homemade, delicious food. The mac 'n' cheese was right up there with the best I have ever eaten.... More

Finally got in here. Met a friend for lunch. Sat in a booth and had a couple of burgers. Waiter started chatting with friend at front of restaurant like he was at lunch. I never care for that. Burger was Ok and I will return another time when I want that old school diner experience.
