I have been to the FIsh Tail a dozen times and therefore I can average my experiences over time. I have had good meals and average meals. The Fish Tail is a small bar / diner. They brew beer in Olympia and also have German style beer from Leavenworth. I have had beers from all over the world and I... More

Went for breakfast today. I had salmon benedict which was fair- not much salmon, not much potatoes, not much flavor. The other two in our group had "eggs rancheros" who felt it was pretty weak. little flavor, min salsa. would not go there for breakfast again especially with so many great breakfast options in Olympia

On our trip we tried clam chowder at four restaurants. This restaurants chowder rated #5 of 4. I think they put sand in it instead of salt, because it had plenty of sand, but no salt. I never salt chowder but it toomany shakes of the salt shaker just to taste any salt. Too bad they did not have other... More

I was in there for breakfast with some friends and overheard the bartender: She accused the customer of spreading rumors about the pub when she asked her to check the balance on her loyalty card. The customer mentioned she had heard a rumor that balances were going missing and wanted to check hers. The bartender continued to accuse the customer... More

On the way home from a weekend in Oregon my husband and I decided to try this restaurant because we had seen it on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives on the Travel Channel. This is the third DDD restaurant we have been to and we weren't disappointed. The pub reminds me of others I've been to in Portland, OR. Very... More

It's hard to give high marks to a brew pub that serves warm, flat beer. The food accompanying the beer was okay, but nothing to give high praise. Possibly they were having a bad day, but it was a disappointment for us.

The Fish Tale Brew Pub in Olympia is basically a cool place to hang out, and rub shoulders with the locals. Great food and loads of locally brewed beers - your American experience won't be complete without it! I ordered the nachos which were supposedly a starter, but when the plate arrived there was a veritable mountain of food before... More

You have to yell at the person next to you in order for them to hear you and then they have trouble hearing you even if you do yell! It is so loud in there that I'm sure it's ear damaging. I love the pan fried oysters and the service is effecient. Plenty of parking for free too.

The beer and cider are good. There is something for everybody. In addition to a quality hamburger, you will find a menu that is diverse in its offerings. The food is good pub good with a touch of ethnic foods available. I must say that the onion rings are deliciously memorable. If you like onion rings, grab an order.

I'm a visitor to Washington and the Fish Tale was recommended by family who live in Olympia. Sat outside on a warm afternoon and started with a round of beers and basket of fries. Everyone in our group had a sandwich of some sort - reuben, turkey, veggie and pulled pork. Each is served with a choice of sides which... More
