It says a lot when you're served salmon that isn't overcooked. We also enjoyed a savory seafood soup. Very creative dishes but without disrespecting the core ingredients. Service was, well, strange. Watered down martini for starters, we were almost served another table's food (awkward), and was finally questioned for wanting to break bills for change (to make tip) as if... More

I loved the atmosphere with little lights and a window for fresh air. I had the daily special. Everything presented so beautifully. An unexpected find!

The service was very good and the food as well. I had a salmon special which was prepared perfectly (not overcooked as many restaurants prepare salmon). The prices are a bit high, but as one of the few upscale restaurants on the Long Beach peninsula it was tolerable for a special occasion.

This is not The Ark. There were two of us - women - we made reservations and were seated next to the rest rooms which, since I travel a lot, is a pet peeve of mine. Oysters were delicious. Fish was awful - tasted like it had been frozen too long. Check hours - I think they are now only... More

Went back just last week with some friends who were visiting the area for the first time. We were a bit disappointed . The service was excellent, prices reasonable, nice wine selection, but the food just didn't live up to expectations based on previous visits. The sauce on the Halibut with Crab as so lemony as to hide any flavor... More

My wife and I ate here in April. Really expected a wonderful meal, since the operators once ran The Arc (now defunct, but once highly regarded). Nothing special on the night we ate here, and the service wasn't very warm. Maybe it was an "off" night, but even the menu didn't read interesting.

Jimella and Nancy (her business partner) have been fixtures on the Long Beach Peninsula since the 70s. After selling their large restaurant, Jimella opened the seafood market in a smaller building nearby. She and Nancy did their "retirement" plan of operating a smaller restaurant with the same type of cuisine. Although Jimella died recently, Nancy now operates the restaurant under... More

They were busy on a December Saturday night but space was carved out for our group of four. The evening special and our choice was cioppino accompanied by a Caesar salad. The Caesar was one of the best I have ever had. The cioppino was full of seafood and was also very good. The market area has been removed since... More

Having dined at the old Ark restaurant we expected Jimellia's would be good. But everything exceeded expectations. Wife and I shared the halibut and it was more than enough for the 2 of us. Without a doubt one of the best fish dinners I've had. Wine list is adequate and reasonably priced. Service was great. Didn't have desert, but they... More

Very little about Jimella’s was average during our visit. I suspect if you came at the right time and ordered the right things, one could have a terrific meal here. However, given that our experience was so mixed, and the prices were steep enough one ought to be able to expect just about everything to be at least good, an... More
