Love This Place, Highly Recommended

This is a great place and has some of the best sushi and sashimi around, quality and portions are very good. The prices are reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food. I've since moved away and can say that in comparison to other highly rated places in Seattle, this place wins out and is... read more

The ownership changed hands about a year ago (summer of 2014) but the decor, menu and some of the chefs remain as in the past. The food is still tasty, and the place was packed. I will return.

Had dinner here with an associate that raved about the place. I wasn't at all disappointed. The sushi was fresh and tasty, the prices were reasonable, and the staff was friendly.

Sakuma's it's not just sushi, but they serve the best, freshest sushi in the area. My wife and I often eat here at lunchtime. She always has the Chicken Yakisoba, while I try different dishes. Their Sukiyaki, and Bentto Boxes are delectable. The staff is efficient and friendly. It is a great place to meet friends in the evening for... More

Neighbors love Sakuma, and especially the dinner and lunch Katsu Ju. A friend and I had business to discuss so tried out Sakuma this Noon. I ordered lunch Tempura at $ 9 with white rice, sunomono (cucumber salad) and Miso soup. More veggies than fish but I like veggies too. Can't say it was better or worse than at most... More

Very good restaurant, and the sushi is high quality. Decided to mark it down because the prices are a little high, and they don't have a basic salmon roll.

Went there late at night when everything seemed to be closed not expecting much. I was impressed, however, by the friendliness of what appeared to be the owner. The hostess not so much but maybe she was tired. Even though most other diners were almost finished he seemed genuinely happy to see us. The food was great...mine even came with... More

By far the best Japanese restaurant north and south of Seattle ... and even better than most so-called Japanese restaurants in Seattle. I've been coming to this is a small family owned and run establishment for some 10 years. When I'm in the area and I'm in the mood for Japanese food, I always stop here. It's true there are... More

To be honest, went to Sakuma only because Cafe Soleil a few blocks away was closed on Mondays. The food is very much authentic Japanese. Price and portions are appropriate. Service slow. Took five minutes for the staff to clear off a table for four, and the staff is smug. Staff is a real turn off. Not sure if I'd... More

This small restaurant, tucked away in a strip mall, is surprisingly excellent. It's pretty small, but I've always managed to get a table. The normal sushi / sashimi / rolls are solidly done. They have a good selection of sake and plum wine (yum!) and the miso soup tastes homemade to me. They do carry some rarities. I've gotten Monkfish... More
